Splat | Midnight Complete Kit | Hair Dye | Semi-Permanent | Long Lasting | Vegan and Cruelty-Free (Midnight Tanzanite)

I’ve been using splat for a couple years and I have never had it stain anything. I tried it off of Amazon because Walmart didn’t have it in stock and this one has stained EVERYTHING! My nails are purple, my back is purple and my shower is purple. I washed it until there was no purple water and after I got out, it’s chalky and my dry hair is turning things purple. I thought I’d try it from Amazon because I didn’t want to pay the shipping fee. Never again. I will now pay the shipping.

I have been dyeing my own hair since I was 15 (41 now) and I have NEVER had a dye stain everything like this. At first I was impressed that it was a nice big bottle. The formula was nice because it wasn't super thick but wasn't too liquid either. I washed it out in the shower and boy was that a mistake. My entire stall is stained - tub, walls, everything. Not even Mr. Clean erasers are getting it off. Then I saw myself, also all purple, and really started to get aggravated. As if the mess wasn't bad enough, it doesn't even work well on dark hair. Stay away from this stuff at all costs, it isn't worth it.

I've been using Splat for more than 15 years, but the last 3 times I've purchased the same color I've been using for over a decade, the dye gets gummy, and almost gritty when applying, and then the faulty dye will only take for two or three weeks at best. First I thought it was a fluke, so I purchased another box, same problem, so the third I purchased elsewhere incase there was something wrong with the batch. It had a different manufacturer date. And this time I also bleached my hair first since it is darker, just in case (again, I've been using midnight amethyst for quite some time on my brown hair with no issues and the color held true for several months). My purple was gone with in 3 weeks tops to a pinkish red. It seems like it's time to move on to a new brand.

STAINS EVERYTHING!! My daughter wanted color for summer, holy cow it wouldn’t stop staining everything for a week.

Unfortunately I purchased this just over a month ago and just got around to opening it so now I can't even return it. It arrived with the tip already cut off and the dye exploded all over the box.

This was supposed to dye darker hair with out bleaching. Doesnt work at all. She ended up having to bleach her hair just to get any of the color to show up. Highly highly do not recommend. Id give zero stars if it was possible.

First box was fine. Second box, which was sealed, had this inside. There was no cap on the dye and it was all over.

It says it’s for brunettes but then says to bleach/lighten the hair because it wouldn’t give you the results. Kinda pointless.
