4HP 4 Stroke Outboard Motor Boat Engine, Heavy Duty 55CC Boat Motor with Air Cooling CDI System

Bought this I put it on my canoe didn’t even break it in ran it for about 60 miles down the river in one day after that I found out it takes gear oil at the bottom LOL anyway still runs and turns on like a champ! Worth every penny forgot mention canoe was loaded with about 350lbs and we cut through water easily and yes me and my friend traveled with the river current

Ok, so this little outboard runs pretty well. I've run it 5 times now with no issues. It comes with no oil in it. The lower unit requires gear oil prior to running it, and of course the engine needs oil too. It starts right up even when cold. My concern is that it is described as being 4 horse power. The manual states maximum power output is 1.5KW, which is 2hp. My boat is a Portland Pudgy, it's about 8ft long and weighs about 150lb. The power is good for this boat, but may not be for a larger boat. The noise is pretty quiet, less than I expected. Overall value is good, unless you need the extra power.

Terrible product! Brand new item had a stripped out bolt hole, which prevented the prop. diff. Gasket from sealing. Would not hold gear oil. I fixed that issue, but the engine would not start even with hours of trying. After many back and forth communications with the seller , I discovered that my order did not include a crucial part for allowing the motor to run. So not only did their Q.A. miss a stripped out bolt hole with oil leaking in the box, but also forgot to include crucial parts.

I have it on my pelican boat. I cranks up every time. Perfect little motor. I got it up to 9mph against the current. beats the heck out of the trolling motor I had on it. Battery kept running down. I filled it up with gas and only used 25% of it. Great buy! NO CAP!

Good little outboard on a budget. It is a 4 stroke like a small lawn mower engine that does start very easy. Throttle control arm is fairly short but manageable. only thing i see i don’t like is the throttle selection. prop doesn’t engage till you pass three points than only have maybe 4 points of throttle and the last 4 points for hi selection bogs the motor down to a choking stall. but overall i do like it and is much faster than trolling motor and fairly quiet compared to some other 2 stoke outboards on Amazon that literally is like using a gas trimmer which would be very loud and annoying but this is not. I have a 12’ sun dolphin Jon boat i use for this

All fluids must be checked and filled. No manual.would be handy to say the least. Starts first pull (when I remember to turn the switch on / kill switch off. Easy on fuel. Lots of silver in the fluids at 4 and 10 hour service, now all fluids are clean. Clutch is sprung a little heavy making slow maneuvering tricky. Rotated engine 90 deg from the lower assembly to point exhaust rearward, much easier on the ears. All in all I'm not disappointed with performance or reliability after 20 hrs of operation.

I bought this motor as a back up motor for my motorized boat. I finally took it out for a test drive after little about 4 weeks. My onboard also stopped running and so I engaged my back-up (this) motor. This motor broke down after about 5-10 minutes of working and we were stranded on the lake. I contacted the seller and they offered me a discount to take it to a repair shop. Unfortunately, I let them know that the repair would cost more than the motor cost. This back and forth caused my order to go out-side the refund period, but. I contacted the seller and they made good on the warranty (one year) and sent me a replacement motor. While the motor is not very high-quality (but then it not very expensive, so you are getting what you pay for), the seller stood by their product and warranty. I appreciated this. Thank you.

This outboard motor is perfect for our 12’ Jon boat!! It goes 5 mph and has it’s own gas tank so no need for one inside the boat. The only negative is that the motor doesn’t have a serial number on it so you’ll have to etch one yourself. The seller also doesn’t provide a Certificate of Origin that Texas asks for in order to register it. Luckily, they waived the Certificate since we etched a serial number and provided pictures.
