great for the price
does all the bsic firewall/networking stuff I need at a reasonable price. I tried so many other expensive routers but they all fell short of vlan requirements. this firewall does vlan layer 3 well. it takes a while to get used to the interface and how it manages objects, so be sure you have time to spare for learning before you deploy to prod. logging all has to go to syslog so be sure you can install splunk and/or cacti to get the long term data you need. the appliance has some logging and widget/graphs but does not provide a long enough time range.

STAY AWAY
Installing this thing was/is an unmitigated disaster! NOTHING works. The instrucations and "quick set up guide" are useless, noting more then a bunch a photos of the labling the light.. useless until you get it configured. You can not get it set up until it is registered; you can not register as AMAZON is not listed as an "approved reseller." What a waste of money and time.

Good firewall
This box has a lot of desirable features and is pretty secure. I got the non-wifi version. One note for you to get the most benefits of it's security features you will need to buy the annual subscription for about $300. but so far I believe it is worth the investment.

Lagerware Fortigate 40F
Es ist ein alter Lagerware. Fortigate gibt sein Router mit 3 Monate Lizenzen für viele Extra Features aus. Wir haben diesen Router so erhalten, dass es seit zwei Monaten gar keine Lizenzen hatte und auch der Hardware Garantie seit 5 Monate lief. Im Austausch der Preis mit 331 € inkl. Lieferung war unschlagbar. Wir können die Firmware-Updates ohne Probleme herunterladen und installieren, so dieser Kauf hat für mich gut gelohnt. Multi-WAN Router mit SD-WAN, Firewalling and Forticlient VPN Anschluss gehen super, ich brauchte nur diese Features, die ohne Lizenzen erreichbar sind.

Un ecosistema progettato per la difesa
Dopo un attacco hacker subito in azienda, ho scelto di acquistare per difesa delle reti personali. Di fortigate mi ha colpito l'ecosistema e la qualità dei prodotti. Firewall ben rifinito, robusto, facile da usare. Unico neo,è tutto in inglese, il che lo rende difficile da configurare in alcuni passaggi. Per quanto riguarda il software di gestione, consente di gestire fino 3 vpn e proteggere in modo dinamico e controllabile reti aziendali di piccole medie dimmensioni. il software viene aggiornato con costanza ed è compatibile sia con mac che con windows. La mia versione non ha il wifi, ma consiglio a chi deve fare tutto con 1 solo hardware, di acquistare la versione che ha le antenne. Ci sono diversi pacchetti di protezione e licenze aggiuntive, ma sono a pagamento. La cosa che in assoluto rende l'azienda leader di settore è la possibilità di gestire tutti i parametri in modo scalabile e personalizzato, andando a ridurre sensibilmente i rischi informatici di attacco alle reti e schermando i sistemi da siti web invadenti e pericolosi. consigliato per chi ha bambini o piccole attività commerciali

Alte Lagerware
Ich habe die FW am 14.6.2023 bestellt. Bei der Einrichtung am 15.6. musste ich feststellen dass die Garantielaufzeit bereits am 18.5. begonnen hat. Auf Nachfrage beim Forti Support wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass die FW am 4.2.2023 das Werk verlassen hat, und nach 89 Tagen automatisch die Garantielaufzeit beginnt. Gleiches gilt auch für Trial-Versionen von IPS, AV, und Webfilter, alles per 10.6. abgelaufen. Die 1* Bewertung bezieht sich nicht auf das Produkt! Hier würde ich 5* vergeben!
