I have a hybrid MalinoisXGSD dog and this is by far her favorite toy. I started with this at about 6 months of age and she looks forward to her daily playtime. It is durable, I play some tug of war with it and is holding up really well to her teeth. The string is coated at the ends (it just started to peel but very slightly). She can pull on the ball and the string has handled a lot of that. You can throw this thing over 100 feet out due to the nice balanced weight of the ball. Note: I do not let her keep the toy to chew/bite on at her leisure. It comes out only when it's time to play. It helps to reinforce training commands and by doing so, she gets to fetch and pull on it as her reward. She's a year now and I'm sure I'll easily get another 6 months of daily use. Again, I have a hard-biting, sharp toothed large breed dog and this product is holding up to what it was intended for.

Don’t get me wrong, I love this thing. I just wish the rope was stronger. I have a German Shepherd mix breed, and she has torn through the knots on two of these now. I don’t leave her alone with it, either. She has managed to tear through the plasti-dip coating and the rope just through usual play. The ball itself is indestructible, though. We still use it for fetch and as a chew toy around the house. It’s a hefty ball and, if your dog isn’t a crazy chewer, I don’t think you’ll have any problems with the rope. I’ve bought two now and I’ll probably buy another. It’s the best I’ve found so far.

Adult Mini Golden Doodle and 7 month old Belgian Malinois broke the knotted end in about 5 minute of light play. Extremely unsatisfied. The ball itself feels very durable however the heat shrink and rope are very frail.

This is my second time buying this tug, it is by far the longest lasting sturdiest ball tug I’ve ever used. As a dog trainer I’ve gone through a lot of different types of tugs. These aren’t intended to be chew toys, if you use it for it’s intended purpose and keep out of your dogs reach when not playing it will stay in good condition and not break. My only issue is that for smaller dogs it can be a little to big and heavy

I bought a similar item that didn't last more than a day. This item is very sturdy and not made of cloth materials so it's easy to wash. This is my seven month old German Shepherd puppy's favorite toy. He was quite upset when I got the first one stuck in a tree so I had to immediately buy another one and he was extremely excited today seeing it come out of the package!! I plan on buying a couple more for back up.

Super great idea! Rope came out of the ball after 1 use. Still use the ball!
