Radical Tarot: Breaking all the Rules

Owning Mr. Pitisci's other 3 books, plus watching his YouTube videos, I was a little disappointed - because I "assumed" this was just a rehashing of his previous work. I was WRONG! As I mulled through the beginning pages, I realized I was moving from a position of looking in from the outside to "actually being" on the inside - it's a book of "transformation" - of becoming the owner of this knowledge instead of just "reviewing it". There's a sense of understanding in the pages that removes the doubts, the questions, and the hesitations - because it all makes perfect sense. Mr. Pitisci adds humor to the work, and plays with the cards - as only a Master of the art of reading the Tarot can do. In this, he takes any fear and trepidation in the reader and converts it to positive energy. I was surprised to see afterwards that it wasn't just information about the cards that Mr. Pitisci was offering, but rather, a comfort-zone of acceptance being woven by his words. And, he does it very well. I enjoyed the book and suspect others will also. I'd highly recommend it for any student of Tarot - it'll become a favorite reference book in addition to being a great read!

And this is exceptional. His Bare Bones Tarot is great as well… but if you do like I did and buy everything he has written… Roadhouse Reader and Tarot traveler are almost identical and there is very little in The Essential Tarot that isn’t in Bare Bones, but with less material… I suppose Essential Tarot is worth buying if you want a slightly smaller/portable book, as Bare Bones is a goodly amount larger.

Mr Pitisci is an excellent teacher, extremely knowledgeable and a great sense of humor. This book was easy to read and I really enjoyed it.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon one of Mr Pitisci’s videos earlier this year after settling back into tarot and finding my knowledge sorely lacking in understanding. When I watched it, I didn’t put much stock in him and instead tried to find someone else to teach me the meanings of the cards. After months of frustration and getting nowhere, another video of his popped up. And I got it! I ordered this book to sort of get my feet wet with Mr Pitisci’s work outside of his Youtube videos and I’ll be ordering several more books after the insight this one has offered. You really do need to take time to digest what he’s offering before simply dismissing it as useless like I did. When it clicks for you, you’ll know it! And I couldn’t be more confident in the progress I’ve made with his help and his lessons from this book! 10/10 would recommend!

I’ve only started reading this book and already I feel like I’m home. Finally! I have struggled for 40 years trying to memorise the cards, would get frustrated and pack them away for several years. I pulled them out of storage 3 years ago, purchased several books, none of them helped me and then I found this author. The information in this book and his other books have put the cards into a completely new perspective for me and using a Marsielle deck has opened up my mind. I’m also using Tarot Maps and guess what? I’m doing it. I’m able to actually do a reading. I’m seeing the meanings through the keywords from Essential Tarot. I now own all his books and I’m serious. I’m going to start reading for others very soon. All I can say is thank you and highly recommend all his books to any beginner or even a seasoned pro.

Great work to read and learn. Out of all the books I have ever had on the tarot, this one makes learning and using the tarot easy. I enjoy his books but this one just flows, and makes the learning so enjoyable. I hadn’t read in many years but his books made it all come back quickly and allows my intuition to work freely. Great teacher!

Really great set up that invites learning and annotations.

I am a healer & an intuitive. I was given a tarot deck, and became so intrigued with the Tarot. I discovered Vincent Pitisci on YouTube and just had to get his books! Outstanding! Can’t say enough about them! Feeling so much Gratitude to have found these books! Pitisci you rock! Sonia Epstein

I have all his books because with him you come into praxis. Just learn the keywords by heart and a clear world opens in front of you. I can rely on it and get a very positive inspiration to find the right definition for the person in front of me. What a pity that he is not translated into german. I never read such an easy and inspiring introduction into the tarot. If you want to mystify the meaning or make it more esoteric you can do that but your definition needs a solid ground and this is what Vincente offers. Thank you so much Vincent !

After many deep dive classic tarot books , I have got many things after things piled up in my mind. The way of teaching is beyond simplicity and it works well with intuition development. It leads me to one classic kunfu master theory : when you reach that stage, you really don't need those beautiful complicated posture, that's all. Buy it! I still recommend to read others like 78 degree of wisdom ( another lens to self-reflection) . Both are delivering the same message. Mr Pitisci has engraved the profound philosophy in real life, he is real deal!

Vincent has an amazing way to learn tarot easy, I've read many tarot books from other authors and none compare to this one, his approach on learning tarot just seams to make sense, and sense seams to stick with you.

Vincent Pitisci's books on Tarot are always a fun and informative read. He offers deceptively concise methods for using the Tarot very effectively (which I do professionally). I'd imagine he'd not be everyone's cup of tea as he happily cuts through a lot of the woo-woo associated with tarot (without dismissing it or dissing it, it must be said) and focusses on what makes tarot readings work. He also has a sense of humour and a strong line in knowingly daft humour which I personally like. This book shows the linkages between Tarot reading and modern creative thinking techniques and has a focus on the future of tarot reading. I'd recommend to anyone interested in the subject matter and is suitable for existing practioners and people new to Tarot.

This book is even better the the one before (essential tarot). Everything is written in great detail without being overwhelming. Pitisci's writing style is funny and relatable. This is by far my favourite book I've ever read in any subject area. I 110% would recommend to ANYONE, even those not interested in reading tarot themselves, as his discovery of the why behind tarot and how he writes about the tarot is second to none. I'd also check out his YouTube channel (Vincent Pitisci) as there are loads of videos by him where he explains a lot of this stuff and shows example spreads etc.
