Is all that metal, plastic? plastic band etc?

The ear pieces are metal/rubber around the outside with a soft vinyl/leather ear pad & a mono/stereo switch on the back of the left phone. The swivel bracket attaching the ear pieces is plastic but strong enough in normal use (I've had mine since they were first released and they're in perfect condition). So unless you were extremely rough with them, they will last a lifetime. The headband does have a metal insert surrounded by foam/vinyl padding for comfort, but the pressure is quite strong for long term use so I've opened mine slightly and gently to stretch it reducing the pressure & they are much more comfortable now for long term use. If you can still get hold of a pair I'd definitely recommend them but there are the newer HDJ 3000 with - as far as I'm aware - all metal fittings. Full range sound and very powerful. With the right equaliser settings unbeatable :)
