Delicious and convenient.
These Mountain House foods are great. They never go bad, take up little space in my trailer, and are very easy to use. One thing I found out is if you shake the bag before adding water, everything is evenly distributed in the bag.

Nice for travel, expensive as backup food
This was fine. Super tasty? No, but 4 outta 5. Takes time to cook, like 20 minutes overall, and don't rush it or you will get some crunchy noddles. Everything works in packet, and there was plenty of sauce to maybe add to some other dish - if you like. Not a cheap product overall, but for an easy travel meal that just needs water, its nice.

Tasty. Noodles al dente.
I thought this was decent. It filled me up and the noodles were still just a touch crunchy, but good food on the trail. This was my first try at home. Made me want a little salt, which made me think I should have spices in my bug-out bag. My bf did not think it needed salt. He like it, said he would eat it gladly on the trail.

Tasty meal
Maybe add a tiny bit more seasoning to doctor it up and you're golden. Tasty meal and easy to prepare. Fast. Worth it. Stock up a few to have onhand at your home, and water

Texture isn't great
So the texture isn't great. I followed the directions to a T and the noodles were still pretty firm and spongy. After letting them sit for a while longer the texture gor better, but was still pretty spongy. Taste wise, they're alright. It tastes exactly like Mac and Cheese that's in Kids Cuisine frozen dinners. Between this and eating a squirrel, or starving, I would choose this in a heartbeat. It really wasn't that bad. Pretty expensive for what you get though. If this were $3 cheaper I would recommend it to any prepper or backpacker

Great shelf life and light weight
These are great meals to either store for emergencies or have for those ultra light camping trips. I'd recommend waiting for a sale to stock up as they are a bit pricey.

This is the first time I’m trying this. Reviews from others have made me expect a certain sort of quality and taste to the Mountain House brand, and this mac and cheese doesn’t disappoint on that. Pros: 1) Easy to rehydrate - it just needs 325ml of boiling water; 2) Taste is pretty good, although the saltiness of it is higher than my preference. But since I’m planning to have this for my emergency stash and won’t be eating it regularly, I think the salt content is all right for this goal; 3) The cheese thickened into a nice sauce coat instead of being watery; 4) The amount for one pouch seems enough for my husband and me to have a filling meal. Cons: 1) Takes maybe five minutes longer than the suggested timings to get the macaroni to become soft enough to eat, rather than have that slight bit of crunch that indicates the macaroni hasn’t fully rehydrated yet. Note: Maybe adding some chilli flakes would break up the potentially monotonous and too-rich taste of the cheese, but this is simply a personal taste reference. All in all, it’s a good buy and I intend to get more pouches to store.
