Great stuff best tasting freeze dried food. Add a few extra spices etc and you have a great meal.

We tried some of these out on our last camping trip. Just boil water, place in pouch and stur. Wait, stur, wait and eat. We had some tortillas with us so we used this to make simple breakfast burritos. From the pouch to the tortilla, little bit of hot sauce and good to go. We didn't even use any extra plates that needed to be cleaned afterwards. If we had a cooler we would of added some shredded cheese to them. For eggs breakfast that you buy in a bag, doesn't need to be kept at any certain temp for storage, and "cooks" up easy, They did a pretty good job.

I love that it's easy to make and tastes pretty good considering. Using these for a big camping trip with my daughter this year. I like that it's basically a whole meal that doesn't need to be kept in the cooler or anything. And it doesn't weigh much so it would be great for backpacking/hiking too. I suspect this would also be a great product for people who "always like to be prepared" too, as it has a very long shelf life. Honestly you can't really beat it for the price.

The other packaging variants on this product are too big for my needs. Size is important when getting the food into a bear canister, and this smaller size has plenty of food to fill me.

I have found Mountain house to be the best tasting survival food on the market. It is high in calories and carbs but when you're out hiking or camping it's great for strength and energy. I eat about half the portion size based on my diet and size. I love the comfort of knowing I am set up for any emergency situation. The flavor and convenience is a major plus.

I usually love anything Mountain House, but this was a disappointment. Bought some for long term storage and opened a can to try. Cooked per directions and got a wet soggy mess with hard bits embedded… tried with less water and more wait time and it helped, but was never really good… best result I got was with less water, a long wait and then browning up in the skillet. It will sustain you in an emergency, but I have come to expect more from Mountain House products… many of their other products are absolutely delish… beef stroganoff and granola & blue berries with milk…for example…
