Finally, something comparable to my Leophile Eel
This review is for PHILIPS Bluetooth Neckband Headphones. So, I've gone through 3 or 4 pair of bluetooth neckband earbuds trying to find something comparable to my old Leophile Eel, which still works perfectly fine. It's just that the protective rubber cord around the wiring is splitting up where it meets each earbud. I'm afraid this will compromise the durability. Other than that my Eel has been fantastic. Sounds really good and I've never had technical issues with them. However, they are almost impossible to find now, as it seems that Leophile no longer exists or they are under a different name now. I wouldn't be surprised if they went under from selling such great earbuds at too low of a price (usually around $40-$60). The earbuds I went through before the Philips were the 'FIIL Digital Noise Cancelling Headphones' and the 'Picun Wireless Headphones 35 Hours Playtime Neckband Bluetooth Headphones LED Light'. The FIIL tore my ears up out of the box with extremely tinny highs that irritated my ears. After adjusting the EQ in Spotify and practically turning the high frequencies almost all the way down they were acceptable. They still didn't sound nearly as smooth and good as my Leophile Eel though. They do look and feel nice. However, your ears immediately know the quality of sound by how irritating it does or doesn't become to your ears after several minutes of listening. The Picun buds straight up just didn't sound as good as my Eel no matter what I did with them. Philips... these are good. Very good. They sound every bit as good as my Eel, which really surprised me, and right out of the box. Nothing irritated my ears, the S's sounded nice and smooth on a good quality sound file. That's a good sign. Even the built in voice sounded nice and clear. Coast to Coast AM podcasts sounded great. I am real happy with the sound quality. Someone here complained about there not being enough bass. There is plenty of bass. If you really want to ruin your ears then maybe a few might ask for even more bass, but I did not require it. I do have the EQ adjusted for more bass though, and I set my iPhone to the 'bass' option, so yes I like bass and require a good amount. I listen to old school hip hop and rap, motown, disco, house, techno, trance, edm, etc., and I did not require more bass than what I'm getting here. It sounds great to me. Everything sounds smooth and doesn't irritate my ears after a while of listening. That's important to me and a good indicator of sound quality. They are light but not cheapy light. They look and feel good. It comes with a micro USB > 3.5mm cord so you can plug them into a jack to listen. That cord is long enough to reach your knees. I have not tested that cord out yet. They connected to my iPhone immediately with no issues. I haven't used them long enough to know how well they stay connected but I don't expect any issues. The cords from the buds are thicker than my Leophile Eel so I appreciate that added durability for the bud cords. Haven't gotten to test how long they last. Very happy purchase so far. Overall these are probably the best neckband buds on here under $100 as long as they continue to work as advertised.

Confortable headphones!
These wireless headphones have clear sound and good bass, perfect for music or calls. The battery lasts a long time and the Bluetooth connection is stable. They are comfortable to wear even for several hours.

New old stock but battery won’t hold a charge.
Bought these as a gift and while they sounded GREAT, these appear to be old stock. I suspected as much when I discovered the charging port was a micro-USB style. The battery was supposed to last 9 hours with ANC and 14 without. The battery in this brand new but old stock item would last more than 2 hours despite multiple chargings (as per manufacturers recommendations). 100% to 60% in less than an hour, below 30% on 90 minutes. As I said, the sound is great but had to return.

Good sound
These are comfortable and people on the other end of the call say my voice is clear. Music sounds good. Con- the earbuds just dangle they do not retract there is no place along the neck to store them. They are magnetic and will stick to each other behind your head BUT if you listen with just one, the other just hangs down and can easily get caught on stuff I often stick it inside my shirt colar but that gets annoying.

Bad battery
The battery life is awful. Wish I had bought the protection plan. Had these for 3 months and now it doesn’t hold a charge. Tried a different charger but they are garbage. Guess I’m looking for a new headset now. Ugg

Good product and the only one headphone that is wireless and wired
UPDATE As shown in my original review, I had a good opinion of the PN505. Regrettably, the Active Noise Cancelling stopped working. I am mad and feel cheated. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM !! ORIGINAL REVIEW This is the second unit I purchased. I bought the first one about two years and have performed like a charm. I initially purchased it to use while mowing the lawn. I needed neckband earphones with good active noise cancelling (ANC) so that they do not fall to the ground while riding the lawnmower. To my surprise, it came with a sound cable that I use it all the time while traveling abroad. After reading the reviews I was very surprised to hear that some consumers had battery life problems. I haven't had any problems with my unit. I was concerned about buying another unit in light of these complaints. At the end, not being able to find a comparable alternative with wired/wireless capabilities, I decide to buy another PN505. The first thing I did when I received the unit was to fully charge it and used it--listening music with ANC on--until the power level LED started blinking. It took eleven hours, not the twelve hours mentioned by the manufacturer but nevertheless pretty good...! Overall, the PN505 is a bargain. I also have Bose in ear headphones ... The ANC is pretty good though a bit below the quality of ANC in my Bose unit. Similarly, the Bose's battery last longer than the PN505's. However, based on my experience, considering that the Bose unit costs 3-4 times more than the PN505 it is easy to conclude that the PN505 is a good choice.

Great Music Sound but Call Features Did Not Work // RETURNED
Wow! Music sounds amazing through these earbuds, however the call button did not work as advertised to make calls. I guess they were defective because the instructions indicated to push the button twice to make a call. I use headphones for handsfree calling several hours a day so I unfortunately had to return them. I really hate to return things! Other cons: Over the past 13 years, I've used LG Tone Pro headphones which have a magnetic earbud holder to keep the wires and buds out the way when not in use. The Phillips earbuds just dangle down to mid-chest on me and get caught in things and the neck band gets pulled off. The buds magnetically stick to each other, but the magnets are not very strong and they came undone. None of the earbuds fit my ears and the earbuds fell out every time I turned my head. The neck band twisted around when I only used one earbud. I paired these during a call already in progress and heard a roaring, like the other person was driving with the window down. The other caller was not driving. If they had worked, I would have kept them but would have been unhappy they didn't fit more like my LGs. When the package arrived, I had the suspicion the item had been repackaged. Pros: Music sounds amazing through these buds. Like really great! And I am a musician/audiophile with picky ears. I have always loved Phillips products and was disappointed these didn't work for me.

Nice In Ear Headphones
I just received the headphones yesterday. This was a replacement for a headphone that finally was not working. I am pleasantly surprised by the noise cancelling. I walked by a landscaper who was blaring the blowers and could not hear them unless I removed the earpiece. So far so good and I may buy the product again. I was easy to charge, simple set up and not too many features to make use complicated. Well done Phillips and the price was great. Solid bass with the NC feature. I needed something that would fit around my neck instead of just earbuds. UPDATE: As of December 27,2023. Power On/Off Button has had a problem really after the third month of this review. Instead of repair, I am looking for a new pair of NC around the neck Headphones. If the power Button was better this would be a good choice. but now after only a year and a bit, probably not.
