This is a perfect addition for any beginner, or even an amateur looking for a quick reference on many topics. I would consider myself a very seasoned amateur when it comes to bird and wildlife photography. But know very little when it comes to night photography, or shooting things like fireworks. All of which are covered in good basic detail, among many other topics. Each topic, or section, includes equipment recommended, general settings, and tips. I will find myself using this often I'm sure, and will probably explore some new things just because I bought it!

I haven't been to get out and actually use the information on these cards while shooting yet but by just reading through them, I know they will be a big help. They break down the basics on certain terms and features of your camera and then have separate cards with different shooting situations that give recommended camera settings for each situation. That is exactly what I needed. If you are like me and just cant stand sitting down and reading a book about photography, trying to understand terms and all the gagillion settings on your camera, this is just the thing for you. It will help to go take these cards, go out shooting while referencing them when needed, and basically allows you to learn as you go which is the best way for me to get familiar with my camera. For someone with more experience, this would probably be a waste for you as it really is just the basics in my opinion.

I purchased this for my daughter (10) so she'd have a quick guide to what settings to use and when. Very easy to understand and very effective tool while you are still getting used to all the settings cameras have. Eveything she really needs to know for her D2x can be found here with out me having to hear "Daddy..." :) 4 stars just because it is a little bit large, but the info is spot on.

This is perfect! The full manual for my Nikon D3200 is on line only (also 250+ pages!) and the printed version that came with it was too skimpy on the details to carry around in my bag. This has just enough details for me to refresh my memory on how to change settings or improve my pictures. It is not however specific to any one camera model andis generic to all Nikons and general photography. Just what I was looking for. The quality is great, each page is laminated very well and it comes with a nice carbiner and lanyard to attach to your camera bag. I was worried that the font would be too small for me to read but it is just large enough to read without my reading glasses.

I got this for my wife who is new to dslr's. She is not familiar with terms, she's just a basic iPhone and point-and-shoot photographer. She is wanting to learn and take great pictures so I bought this along with other accessories. I wasn't exactly sure what would be on these but the reviews looked good. I'm glad I bought it. There was SO MUCH info on there. Basic camera controls for her model of camera and tips on how to get the shot she wants depending on certain situations. She won't have to carry her manual around which she never would anyways but this gives her all the info she needs while out playing with her new toy. I recommend this to anyone new to cameras that aren't your basic point-and-shoot.

It works great and is very handy when you need it.

These are nice cards for reminding you of settings and the use of different functions on your cameras. They are well made and sturdy. Easy to hook to your camera bag for use. I gave 3 stars because they weren't what I thought they were, I was hoping for tips on how to set up your camera for different shots. They don't do that at all.
