Can you put this on the floor

Yes you can but it still would need to be stabilized to a wall; as the top is not locked down in place where you pour water in.

Is there a lid for this tank or a way to seal the top? The evaporation and need to add water is significant.

This comes with a stainless steel top. There is intentionally air openings, as that is needed for the bubbles to be able to move through the tank.

Does this need to be mounted on a wall or can it be set ont the floor against a wall so that it is still vertical and non-moving?

Hi, it could be set against a wall on the floor. If you don’t mount it though, you would need a way to make sure it’s secure. Mounting it on a wall prevents it from being knocked over. If it’s just propped against the wall on the floor, there is a possibility of someone or something knocking it over.

can unit be installed vertically

This unit can only be put on the wall vertically. It cannot be horizontal because the top of the unit is were you pure the water and it is a lit. It is not sealed.
