What valve is included? The only review says it came with nothing!

Hayward does not include a valve on this filter. It must be purchased separately. They are available in 1.5" and 2"

what size pool is this for? cannot believe this information is not on the chart? Are we supposed to guess what size we need?

Choosing the Hayward Sand filter size (Model) The size of sand filter depends on the water volume of your pool and the pump flow rate you have. When it comes to choosing a filter, it must be sized to match the pump which in turn must match the circulation needs of the pool. First determine the gallons per minute your pump is currently distributing. Then, determine the filter that has a flow rate above the GPM (gallons per minute) rating. Then consider the turnover rate (Gal) you need to filter your pool properly. In general, a larger pool filter will give you better water with less maintenance. The Hayward web site includes a chart which should help you. Our pool contains 17,500 gal. of water, the flow rate will turn over 47,000 gal. in 8 hours. We hope this helps

how much does it weigh

I don’t have the actual weight, but I can tell you without sand moving it to the spot where it was going that it’s got to weigh 100 lbs or so.

What is the sq footage of the hayward w3s310s proseries sand filter?

As I recall the filtering sq ft is 5, plus or minus a bit depending on how full of sand it is.
