I bought this as a deterrent for Canada geese. It's pretty effective as it makes them nervous enough to move on to less threatening areas. The downside is that it needs a good breeze to stay aloft and eventually the color fades, although it still appears menacing. It's an integral part of my non-lethal anti-goose arsenal.
