This worked perfectly fine for me and was a huge upgrade over the tiny official PS2 memory cards most of us grew up with. The extra capacity meant I could keep far more save files on a single card without constantly having to delete old progress or swap cards around every time I wanted to play something different. Third-party memory cards can sometimes be a bit of a gamble with older consoles, but I didn't run into any reliability or compatibility issues with this one and it behaved exactly as expected. For anyone still playing on original PlayStation 2 hardware, having a larger memory card is one of those quality of life upgrades that makes owning the console much more convenient.

Always a bit dubious when buying anything like this, but they work perfectly.

I don't feel it fair to rate this card any lower than 5 stars on this basis, as it does perform the functions that it has described (it does present as a 128MB memory card on the Playstation, and seems to work fine). However, I felt it important to note for any potential buyers that this card is not suitable for creating a FreeMcBoot memory card, as it does not seem to support MagicGate. As such, the FreeMcBoot installation process will fail if you try to install it to this card. If you've just found your old Playstation 2 in the loft and want something to save your games to, this will be absolutely fine, but if you're into tinkering/soft-modding/etc, this isn't the one for you.

I couldn't quite believe the capacity of the device until I saw the PS2 Bios confirm it, but I seem to have more than enough space for save games now. The write speeds can be a little on the slow side compared to an official memory card, especially on new save data. Overwriting existing saves seems to be about the same speed as an official card. One point to note, if you are looking to use this for Free McBoot as I was, you will not be able to, because this does not use MagicGate technology. Only an official memory card will work for that. But if all you want is more space for your games or a backup card, this is ideal.

I found my old PS2 and wanted to relov3 old.memories. this memory card was perfect addition. Build quality is great and has ample room for saves. Please note though this memory card does NOT work with PS1 games! I have some PS1 ga es i wanted template and the memorybcard wasn't recognised. If you want to play PS1 games, then you will need another memory card to do this.
