Once we purchased new batteries, both remotes now work fine. One down fall is trying to get the dvd players to play the video game. The game seems to want to play at its own times, sometimes working and sometimes it won't even show the games. As far as playing dvds, this product is really good, specially for the price! I read a review about the video constantly skipping, we have not had this issue, even going on the bumpiest roads; we put these too the test! The picture quality is amazing. As far as the reviews on not being able to get the dvds to play the same video, this was not an issue for us. We had to work with the dvds for a minute but if you cant get them to work the same dvd at one time, try switching the dvd to the other play. This seemed to work for us. The only reason I am giving this review and overall 4 star rating is because of two things:1) The remotes, they need to mention that you will most likely have to purchase new batteries. We live in a rural area with not much option when it comes to buying. So we had to wait longer for batteries to arrive when we had needed to use them before then.2) The gaming feature. I gave it 4 stars because the control buttons are on the very top and my kids (6 and 8) can't reach them to start and stop their movies as we're driving. It does come with 2 remotes, but the batteries were dead in ours so I will have to replace them. I had bought the video only same mnfr product year or so ago and quit after 6 months or so and just chalked it up to low cost and some specific items have bad bug so to speak. I bought both for my grandson whom I told the game system was coming for Christmas and was SUPER EXCITED, especially because we take long road trips and this is his first game system. It comes, I hook it up and playing it when called and told him. Next day we go to pick him up and the thing quits. You could tell the issue is w/ the hand held game controller cord connection and w/out the controller you cannot the system doesn't recognize you choose to play games and you're done. The picture is so grainy it is not worth the DVD feature. All in all this is a major waist of time until they can get their connectivity issues figured out. For crying out loud RCA in business over 50 years and they won't spend the money on decent plugs. It would be a great value for the money if the child got some memorable fun times playing it - ie: 1 year + MINIMUM.
