These are long which makes the difficult to use in still air box for agar transfers…. When flame sateralizing, the metal turns black, and doesn’t return to normal color which makes it feel terribly used after just 1 time. Finally and most importantly, the metal part is not sturdy, it not solid, it flimsily, and so when you want to remove the agar , the metal will bend and won’t just get the job done, so you are going to have to hold it near the tip to make it less bendy and penetrates the agar for a cut, which just makes the length of the tool even more pointless.

I gave these as a gift to a budding scientist/artist who enjoyed the various thickness of the wands and sheerness making designs in Petri dishes and watching them grow.

Such good quality, love the item. Great replacement for my old lab loops. Will buy again I’m future once these are no longer usable.

These worked great for removing bacteria specimen from agar plates to make gram stains from. Also very durable for a good price.
