Scope is made China. You will probably not find one of this quality at this price made anywhere else.

Q: Will this model hold up to the recoil of a 308?

It handled the brutal recoil of my sps 300 ultra mag. Your 308 win won't hurt it.

Q: Does the gen ii argos exhibit a lot of purple fringing the way the gen i does? as a photographer i associate this with inferior quality lenses.

Optical quality is excellent from edge to edge. They really are a great buy!

Q: How does the zero stop work ?

Once you zero your scope in take the elevation turret off and there is a black ring in there with screws in it loosen the screws push it all the way down and make sure the little nipple on the outside of the ring it touching the stopper on the scope and tighten the screws back down and put the turrert back on make sure to set the turret back to zero
