This connector is the bees knees. Need to check a hard drive you can use this and just plug it into the USB slot. Larger size drives may need a power supply. This is perfect for SSD's. I just used it to print a smart report on a hard drive

Good value for money , works well, feels quality

Excellent product ordered a second one after first one's performance. Simply attach to a compatible drive and plug the USB connector into the device. So far used with a Windows 10 PC, Android 10 phone and a Raspberry Pi 4 which with the updated Raspberry Pi firmware applied you to can boot onto the attached drive. It also has the faster UASP support which some of the cheaper ones don't. This will not power a 3.5 inch HDD. Ugreen sell one that you can attach a separate PSU to for that which I have also purchased.

Works well, seems well built. Only minus a star because it doesn't line up with the width of a 2.5" drive, if it did, it would look a lot more pleasing. Can read SMART data and it uses the UAS driver.

A bare drive can be quickly connected to a computer for copying or testing without having to open up the computer by using a USB port.

I had an older laptop which was broken, snd wanted to recover my profile /info from the hard drive. This cable is easy to use - simply take old the ok’d drive and plug it I to thus cable ... the other USB end goes into my working laptop .. and hey presto I was able to use thus cable to boot my laptop from the old drive , and to access files on the old drive. Superb product, well made. Did the job well and saved paying a repair shop.

Just plugged it into the hard drive and a usb port and away you go

It is functional but it uses a lot of power which some USBs cannot deliver, or if you go into a USB that is in a shared lane, it can slow the other one to ridiculous proportions, eg if you have a mouse dongle plugged in, your mouse becomes very laggy. There are some that come with an external power which is probably a better way to go ANYWAY because it will be more stable. It looks quite plasticy and I could see it breaking since obviously usually with SATA you aren't plugging and unplugging it all the time
