Review: Excellent Book - Great book! Really hammers home the fundamentals you need to actually use the program in the industry. I would keep this book for the long run. Review: Excellent Book for Beginners in Civil 3D - Good book if you are new to Civil 3D. Great for learning to put together a full project from scratch. However, most beginners are either stepping into the middle of a project or trying to document a completed project. There needs to be a special section on "How to fix it when someone else has screwed it up!" All in all, a good reference book with plenty of examples. I especially like the steps given on accessing certain menu items. Many menus on Civil 3D are buried deep. Autodesk help instructions always start in the middle as if you are already an expert in navigating the ribbon/button/tab maze. Mr. Chappell has done a very good job of starting at the beginning.
