Firstech Compustar Drone Mobile X1MAX-LTE Telematics GPS Alarm Module Tilt Drone X1-MAX

I was fortunate to buy my tundra with a compustar remote start already installed. I searched compatabilty and found that i could plug in a drone module to my existing autostart. I received this, found the plug on my existing remote start under the dash, plugged it in, and followed the easy instructions to pair it to the drone app on my phone. If you are capable of finding your existing autostart under the dash, you are capable of installing this. I have used it for years and have only found a couple locations where the drone module didnt have reception (remote areas where cell service is bad) basically anywhere my phone had service, the LTE module had service. I LOVE the ability to check interior tempurature from my phone in the winter when using the auto start. I also was able to use the app to see vehicle voltage. I have a trickle charger installed with my engine block heater for the wintertime, so I could look at voltage and see that the trickle charger was charging at 14 volts, which tells me that the engine block heater is plugged in and the truck will start on the cold mornings in Alaska. I rented out the truck that this drone was installed in and I was always able to see where the truck was with the drone GPS. very handy for making sure the truck is safe, and if the vehicle was ever stolen I was happy to know that I would always know exactly where it was.

Just what I needed. Plug and play. The best part, you can use DroneMobile on your Apple Watch. My watch has cellular on its own so I’m never using my remote again. Love the features, the tracking especially. But it monitors the temperature of your car and the battery voltage too. Just a super convenient add on to your remote starter. You can even add commands to Siri to start or lock the car for example. One thing I wish it did have was an option to sense when I’m close to the car and unlock it automatically, that would be sick. But this is legit, if you have the money, buy it, I installed both the starter and the drone myself (plug and play) but I did have an issue registering via the DroneMobile app. Not a huge issue though because I registered through the website and it worked perfectly. The app is clean and not ugly or underdeveloped.

Installation into the iData remote start (I had previously installed it myself) took about 30 seconds. I purchased it to replace the cheap fobs that came with the system. Setup in the app was easy. I had it operational in less than half an hour. It works perfectly.

This is NOT a security module. it will not start your alarm horns, it will not beep, it will not do anything but give you a single alert if you have the app open or always on in background sucking power. Found this out after taking to my installer and he said they had the same problem when they started installing these. They are supposed to release a new version that does activate alarm otherwise you need one with the DAS unit. ALSO: its backup feature does not work in america. america does not support 3g anymore. so if for whatever reason you have problems with sim or an lte tower is down, you are out of luck.

Install can be complex if not skilled in mobile auto electronics, so you may want a professional install. That said, the Drone system has been rock solid and reliable.

Easy to install, good app, but expensive

Took me 15 mins to install and activate though my cellphone works perfectly the DroneMobile app is awesome
