This stuff helps!
I like the smell and helpfulness of using this pre-conditioner. I smooth it in my hair, particularly on my hair along the hairline, and where my scrunchie goes, just before putting my cap on and swimming laps. When I go to wash out my hair after swimming, it is soft and not stripped of natural oils like it is when swimming without a pre-conditioner. It also seems to help my cap last longer. (I use a fabric-type cap with water resistant coating on the outside.) With that said, it is not great if I leave it in my hair longer than a few minutes before swimming. I have had a couple of instances where I couldn’t swim when I had planned and it dried in my hair and made it feel brittle and more breakable until I could rinse it out. It works great if you swim and then rinse off right away. Don’t let it fully dry in your hair if at all possible before swimming/rinsing off. If you do, don’t comb or brush your hair until you rinse it off. (I suspect this would be the case with most conditioners, honestly.) This is my second bottle—it is worth the money. It really helps protect my hair when swimming and I will keep using it.

It works! Love the Aquaguard!
The Aquaguard pre swim hair protector is fantastic!! My daughter is on a swim team and water polo team. She is in the pool 5 days a week for 2-3 hours at a time. This product has saved her hair! She applies it before swimming and wraps her hair up in her swim cap. Even though her hair gets wet, it hasn’t been damaged by all the chlorine. Her hair has stayed soft and healthy looking. It smells great too! Before finding this, her hair was always crispy and damaged. The Aquagurd is a fantastic product. We have ordered it several times and will continue to use it.

IIT works. The size of this bottle is a good value for the price.
It works to protect the color and texture of my hair from pool chemicals and the sun. I use a light cap over it and it conditions my hair while I swim. This bottle is value size.

Amazing and smells great!
This stuff is great! I hardly ever go in the pool but more so because I spend so much $ on my hair (blonde, color and pink). It’s never worth it to damage my hair or have the color fade. Well, I got my hair done 2 weeks before our trip to Disney’s typhoon lagoon and was so worried about that. I reapplied multiple times in my day and then sprayed it with the detangler after. Because I couldn’t rinse or shower right after the park, my hair dried. I could not smell the chlorine at all. All I smelt was the product (smells sooooo good by the way lol). I washed my hair and there was not a single trace of chlorine. My hair, because it’s processed, tends to cling on to smells (chlorine, salt water, or other smells like car fumes, smoke, etc). I was super impressed. My pink did fade a tiny bit (granted my hair was soaking wet for hours) but not as bad as I was expecting.

Amazing! Works very well! Keeps my hair from the harmful chlorine in my pool! No discoloration to my hair! Love it! Super soft, no tangles either. Good price

Expensive, but seems to work well
I started using this product last swim season (roughly June - September where I live) because I was doing an hour or two of laps every day and was very concerned about the likely damage to my hair. I was skeptical, both because of the price and because of the additional "pre-swim" prep using this product added to my routine -- basically, having to wet my (long) hair in the sink, spread this stuff all over, and then drip water annoyingly on myself while I got ready to swim. (I also found the pump bottle extremely hard to get working when I first opened the bottle ... I'm hoping that's been improved since last year.) BUT. All this minor kabitzing aside, the stuff WORKS. It really does work. I swam in a well-chlorinated pool for two hours a day for four months last year, and my thin, stupidly fine hair did not become brittle or fragile or broken, as I remember it doing when I swam regularly as a kid. So I have just ordered another (expensive) bottle, because I'm too old to be sanguine about losing hair unnecessarily. Caveat: I do also regularly use a (much less expensive) chlorine-removing shampoo in my post-swim shower. But I'm still very satisfied with this product, which is why I just bought another (very expensive) bottle for this new season. :-) On a follow-up note ... the company that makes AquaGuard (Underwater Audio) makes an underwater audio player that has literally changed my swimming life. I can swim for literally hours now listening to CLEAR audiobooks and music while I do it. If you're not already aware of such products, I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Underwater Audio's Delphin audio player (and underwater earbuds). Worth every penny. I wish this company charged (a lot) less for AquaGuard, but I will always be grateful to them for my Delphin(s).

Nice conditioner but no pump! [UPDATED]
Updated Jan 2024: Bought another bottle (did come with a pump this time!) but the design and the formula have changed. Bottle is now tall and skinny (easier to knock over) and not transparent (no idea how much is in it). Product is much runnier than it used to be. Seller still shows the wider, transparent bottle, so wondering if this is a fake product. Bought this to use on vacation as I had previously purchased in England. It’s one of those things you’re not sure if it makes much difference, but you don’t want to stop using it, just in case it is helping. It certainly doesn’t do any harm. And it smells DIVINE! 2 stars deducted as it states it comes with a pump (the English one did) and it was just a screw top bottle. Did use it noticeably faster without the pump too.
