Metro 2033 Redux & Metro: Last Light Redux & significant DLC ยก!
Want bang for your buck? Seeking a truly gripping and gritty post-apocalyptic experience on your Switch, then stop scrolling and add Redux to your collection. Based on the celebrated novels by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, this package (often the Redux version) delivers two full, phenomenal games plus all substantial [approx 19gb] worth of DLC,L plunging you deep into the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Moscow. The immersion here is absolute, drawing you into its realistically dark and unforgiving world. You'll navigate claustrophobic, often dimly-lit metro tunnels where every shadow can hide danger, and brave the toxic, irradiated surface. The quality graphics truly shine in bringing this chilling atmosphere and the fight for survival to vivid life. It's not just about looks; this excellent gameplay has approx 17hrs in gameplay yet earning 100% is about 65hrs. Intense, dark and visceral. Combat against terrifying mutants and desperate human factions, demanding both skill and strategy that feels authentically challenging with great quality. For FPshooters or survival horror this game is inspired and be game into this combined two different games with dark narratives embracing survival realism. This collection is an incredible value and a definitive gaming experience though it's one player only. Good recommended to any collection !

Excellent port of two very unique first person shooters
At the time of writing this short review, I just finished Metro 2033 - somewhere right at around 10 hours of playtime. I had played some of this game not long after the original version had released but recall getting stuck early on and giving up on it. Flash forward to 2020 and the improvements and additional gameplay options provided in the Redux package have breathed new life into these games for me. The ability to play in โSpartanโ mode is what made vs broke this game experience for me. Iโm not generally into meticulous, painful survival horror games - so being able to play through this first title with more ammo (more akin to a traditional shooter) was a must. The Metro games are heavy in atmosphere, immersive, depressing-yet-hopeful, and always tinged with a feeling of dread. While mostly linear per each progressing chapter, I found there were always secret areas in each small sandbox area to find if I searched hard enough. This always leads to an extra sense of reward for going off the beaten path. The gunplay and other actions all carry a unique weightiness to them. I grew to really appreciate the motions of wiping water or blood off of my visor, recharging flashlight batteries, reloading and firing my weapons, and crafting them to fit my play style. The flow of the game and breaking of chapters is done mostly well in my opinion. Enough to keep the pacing feeling quick while providing some momentary respite in some non-threatening NPC centers. I was consistently engaged and interested in the story, liked the lead protagonist and several comrades throughout, and easily immersed in this dark world. Very well done. While I canโt speak to Last Light yet (hope to start it soon), I can easily say that 2033โs port to the Switch was/is fantastic. The quality of graphics and FPS of the game was consistent and extremely impressive for being scaled down to fit and run on the Switchโs hardware. I had no graphical issues or frame drops throughout my 10ish hours of playtime. The work that the dev team put into this port is astonishing and Iโm so glad they did it themselves. Easily one of the most impressive ports Iโve seen on the system so far (among Divinity Original Sin 2 and The Witcher 3). All in all, you are getting two excellent, atmospheric, immersive, gritty, pulse pounding first person shooters in this package. On top of that, it says the 10 hour DLC to Last Light is always included. Thatโs an amazing deal! Additionally, you have the options to play Survival or Spartan, depending on your preference, because it is the Redux versions. AND itโs ALL on the cart. No extra downloads required. Thatโs a HUGE plus in my book. Lastly, the game is already discounted on Amazon - and at around $40 this is an absolute steal. Couldnโt recommend enough.

Absolutely phenomenal game! Runs flawlessly
I was wary to buy this considering the limitations of the Switch, but thankfully, my concerns were wrong. These two games are amazing. It's set in post apocalyptic Russia. Little bands of humans taking shelter in the underground trying to meek out a life. Monsters are everywhere. Different factions of humans fighting over power... There is also another aspect of enemy that I don't want to spoil. You'll see when you play it. The story is absolutely fantastic. The voice acting is on point and the world is very lived in. You'll believe these places actually exist. While it is a FPS, it gives you two options on how to experience the game play. One is more survival horror oriented, which limits resources, while the other is more action oriented. It's not open world, but for a linear style game, it's incredible how well they made each environment different. Play the 2033 game first, then the Last Light game after. They're such good games they made me buy and read the books they're based off of. If you're looking for a solid FPS to get invested in, Metro Redux is totally worth it

Metro Redux - Nintendo Switch
Metro Redux for the Nintendo Switch successfully ports the atmospheric and immersive world of the Metro series to the handheld console, delivering a gripping experience for players on the go. This compilation includes both โMetro 2033โ and โMetro: Last Light,โ remastered and optimized for the Switch hardware. One of the most commendable aspects of โMetro Reduxโ on Switch is its ability to maintain the haunting atmosphere and tense gameplay that the series is known for. From the dimly lit tunnels of the Moscow Metro to the perilous surface world, the gameโs visuals and sound design work together to create a sense of dread and immersion that draws players into its post-apocalyptic setting. The narrative depth of both games remains intact, offering players a richly developed world filled with intriguing characters and moral dilemmas. Whether navigating through the dangers of mutant-infested tunnels or interacting with the various factions that inhabit the Metro, players will find themselves deeply engrossed in the stories of Artyom and his fellow survivors. In terms of gameplay, โMetro Reduxโ offers a blend of survival horror, stealth, and action elements that keep the experience engaging throughout. Players must scavenge for resources, manage their inventory, and make strategic decisions about when to engage enemies or avoid confrontation altogether. The Switchโs Joy-Con controllers provide responsive input, allowing for smooth aiming and movement, although some players may prefer to play with a Pro Controller for a more traditional console experience. While the Switch version of โMetro Reduxโ does experience occasional performance dips, such as frame rate fluctuations during intense combat sequences, these issues are relatively minor and do not significantly detract from the overall experience. Additionally, the convenience of being able to play the game in handheld mode more than makes up for any technical shortcomings. In conclusion, โMetro Reduxโ on Nintendo Switch offers a compelling and immersive gaming experience that will satisfy both fans of the series and newcomers alike. With its captivating storytelling, tense gameplay, and atmospheric presentation, this compilation stands as a worthy addition to any Switch ownerโs library, providing hours of thrilling entertainment both at home and on the go.

Awesome port, of an awesome game.
Great game, amazing world design, and story. The world reminds me of a more linear Fallout, if that makes sense. Controls are all very intuitive, and itโs runs great on the switch, I played both titles on my OLED, and never had any freezing, or framerate drops, overall in my opinion, if youโre into post apocalyptic games, itโs a great game.

Simply Great!
I never played the Metro games before this rerelease on the Switch. Iโm about 6 hours into Metro 2033 and so far Iโm loving it! The atmosphere and gameplay are incredible. Iโm actually tempted to buy the novel when I complete the game, just to get more backstory on the fictional world. There are also some really nice features about this particular product/port. Both games are on the cartridge (no download code). Thereโs also no Day 1 Patch, which is awesome. Just pop in the cartridge and bam! instant access to two games. The frame rates and graphics are great! There have been no discernible frame rate dips or graphical hiccups from my experience. Yes, I know that these are older games, but remember that theyโre running on the Switch, which is essentially just a tablet. I can only speak for Metro 2033, as thatโs all Iโve played so far, but I donโt know why Metro Last Light would be much different. This product was done right. Other studios porting their older stuff to the Switch should take notes from these guys.

Great post-apocalyptic atmosphere. Fantastic graphics and stable frame rate even in handheld mode.
Great post-apocalyptic atmosphere. Fantastic graphics and stable frame rate even in handheld mode. Motion control helps a lot with aiming. Cons: The game is too dark although the graphics is great. It is a little bit hard to play and a lot of stressed situations even on Normal level although it is very linear. Wanted to quit it a few times because of this. Vibration is not HD and I recommend to disable it in the start of the game. Metro Last Light Redux has more stealth possibilities and locations to use it if compare with 2033. More interesting places, tasks and stories then 2033. It is definitely a leap forward comparing with 2033. Took around 30 hours for me to finish two games with some additional locations exploration. Levels load time is ok. Got a few bugs in the game like stucked in the wall or dropped off of the game with some error message from Switch. The game will take ZERO additional space on your device if you bought a physical copy which is great as a lot of games like Assassinโs Creed or Bioshock will download additional 5-10 GB of content. Great value.
