Yes they will crumble, no they're not defective
This is a great deal on dragon stone! Lots of different sizes to work with. My only complaint is the way they were packaged for mailing-just a cardboard box with no padding whatsoever, so they crumbled a bit in transit with a lot of handling. Wherever they were stored, they must have been sitting in the sun, because the shrink-wrapped plastic was very brittle. Dragon stone is made of clay, so it is very fragile. If you keep rinsing it expecting it to get clean, you will just keep eroding it away. That's how gained its unique shape in the first place, water erosion! This is a really fun, colorful stone that looks great in aquascapes. It provides shelter for smaller fish and shrimp, and you can really do a lot with it! I look forward to using in my aquascape!

Received a large amount of good looking stones
Really happy with my purchase so far. First order was deemed undeliverable by Amazon. Never had that happen before. The bottom of the box must have been broken and all the rocks fell out...LOL Anyhow, as can seen, received a good amount of nice looking colorful stones(which I was hoping). I got lucky with my order so far as I do not have loads of mud or clay on mine. I cleaned 5 pieces(couple broken off from bigger pieces) with a Home Depot 5Gal bucket and the brush after soaking in hot water. The water was muddy after round one with a good scrub. I don't think I have many holes on my stone that would require tooth picks or bamboo skews to poke out the clay. Will do couple more rounds of soaking and cleaning before adding to my tank. Can not wait to add them. Will provide addition pictures of the bigger piece once I clean them. Update: So there are a LOT of clay to clean out as I discover when I started to clean the larger pieces. However, I find it rewarding when I clean out holes in the stones. Had to resort to the bamboo skewer to dig out the clay from the holes. Finally got a good look at the colors of the stones and I must say I got a great batch with very nice definitions and coloring. One final note, have patient, soak those stone to loosen the clay. It will take couple of cleaning and soaking repeatedly to get the stones to nice presentable condition. Included a picture of a nice looking piece that I added to my 5 Gal tank.. Final before and after pictures of the rocks in my 10G tank.

Perfect
These are perfect. I have had them in my tank for years now and I still love them! They are the perfect size.

Very nice, VERY dirty!
These rocks are gorgeous and they came in a nice arrangement (1 large, 2 med-large, 5-7 small). However, they were extraordinarily dirty, gunked up with all sorts of clay and dirt and one even had some twigs in it. I spent 5 hours cleaning these rocks with a toothbrush and a chopstick and I certainly could have spent even longer. They're good rocks, just be warned that you will have to do some back-breaking work in cleaning them.

Hobbyist approved, large piece broken for me just the way nature intended!
Received order on time, size as advertised, large one is square and cracked, rest are very nice, will go so far as say, I would have cherry picked them myself. Will most likely pick up a couple large feature pieces at the LFS now, thought about ordering 2 expecting more stone would be required. Slowly collecting material for redoing a 50 gallon, same foot print as a 40 breeder but 2 inches taller wish I could find another one like it. This tank has been redone several times over the last 40 years Walstad, tank has always had life. Moved 7 times. Anyway, no complaints product individually wrapped as described, size and quantity appropriate as advertised, not overly dirty as others have mentioned, value for money yes. If one doesn’t like the work which goes with this hobby it’s not for you! You will find no joy or results without the effort. Once established it really doesn’t take much. Hope this helps, I will absolutely recommend this product.

Bang For Your Buck
Let my start by saying the biggest complaint I saw from other buyers was that the rocks come with lots of clay and dirt on them that you have to scrub off. And I’d just like to say: DUH. They’re rocks, they come from the ground, they’re going to have dirt that needs cleaned away. But, you should be washing new additions to your tank anyway so it’s not a big deal. While they do require a good soak and some elbow grease to get in the many nooks and crannies, it’s not impossible to clean them. And once they’re tidied up, they look absolutely stunning. The 10 gallon kit says it comes with 2 medium and 4 small. I got roughly 10-12 rocks in total, talk about an extra surprise! Most were medium and only a few small, also a pleasant surprise. So they were used to scape my 75. There were some that were a little thinner and cracked off a piece or two, but you’re talking about rock that has all kinds of holes in them, there’s bound to be weak spots. Handle them with a little care and all will be well. Packaging I was great too. Rocks come shrink wrapped and in packing peanuts with newspaper so they don’t clank around on each other. All in all, I will definitely be buying again for any future Aquascaping projects I have.

Nice but not as advertised.
The rocks them selves are nice enough, but a few have more white then I was hoping for. The sizes I received are not as advertised. My 25G kit did contain 6 smaller rocks, two medium sized rocks and one larger sized rock, however the dimensions mentioned for the product description are inaccurate. The medium and large one are undersized. The two medium sized rocks I received measure less then 7" on their longest axis and the large rock measures only 8" on its longest axis. So by their product description I received 8 small and 1 medium. The price was lower then other offerings and I like the rocks so no real loss, just not what was advertised.

Worth the buy! 10/10 would recommend!
Love it’s look. Styled it different ways multiple times! And it fit my needs every time. Various sizes. One extremely large one. 3 medium. 4 small. Definitely give a thorough rinse. Be a little aggressive. Because pieces will chip and fall off. And it dirties the tank pretty fast. Great for a shrimp tank! My neocaridina stay in it. Started out with 6 and I found 13 shrimplets when I rearranged.

The rocks are absolutely beautiful! I bought for my 25 gallon tank and I had lots left over....enough to do another ten gallon tank. This is an item where you get value for your money! Each rock was individually shrink wrapped in plastic, but the rocks were not packed with any buffering material so they tumbled around in the delivery and the wrapping tore off some. However, I received some really nice large pieces and a great variety of medium to small. Well done Lifeguard Aquatics!

No me gusto que las piedras más grandes no sean piedras, es arcilla. Le rascas y le rascas y no acaba, esto sin duda afectará al acuario. Ahora queda ponerse en contacto con el vendedor. No engañen a la gente.

I'm getting into aquascaping, and decided to try these ohko stones aka dragon rock...as no local fish store is selling them via covid around here. My assortment of rocks looked good, and the large one is beautiful. Two of the smaller ones were darker, with less detail, but they still will work within the overall aquascape. The cleaning of these rocks is legendary! I'm not kidding. I've never had to clean an aquarium accessory or stone this much! At least for the set I got, you can't buy them and put them in your aquarium the next day after a rinse or wash. You'll rinse them..the water will run deep brown. Then you can scrub with a toothbrush...deep brown. Let them soak overnight. Then using a bamboo skewer, you start to clean out the crevices. But then you are just getting started. Don't get me wrong. If you can convince yourself that this is more of an archeological dig, and not just cleaning rocks - it's alright. You won't be frustrated - just accept it will take days or weeks if you are short on time to clean these. I've let them soak in buckets in the bathtub. Even when the water runs clean after a cleaning session, the soaking allows water to move into new pockets of clay within the deep crevices. When you poke the bamboo stick in there for the next cleaning, the water will run deep brown. I think i'm on my 5th or 6th overnight soak..sometimes leaving the rocks in the water days between cleaning. Some rocks are running clear by this point, others I can still flush out brown water full of clay. Every time there is less...but there is a lot. If you put on headphones, listen to music while your working on these stones, then the experience is more like "detailing" than scrubbing...not bad at all if you are not in a rush...

Rocks are indivually wrapped. Contained 1 large 1 medium, 3 smalls and some really small. Does not alter chemistry too much.

I am extremely satisfied with the quality of rocks that were sent to me. I was hoping this pack would give me what I needed to build a mountain scape and it did! My large rock was more wide than tall which made for a perfect base.
