This book is perfect for any young horse lover! It is absolutely adorable and filled with knowledge and information. There are so many great illustrations to go along with all the information provided that really makes this book so easy to understand and beginner friendly. My 9 year old horse lover cant get enough of this book, and I've learned a lot too. I would highly recommend this book to anyone!

I am an experienced horse person and have looked for good books for kids for a long time. This one is one of yhe better ones. I like the order information is presented and how prey/predator is explained along with non-verbal language. Parts of horse are introduced early. Written in small chunks to keep young readers' interest. I do wish kid's books didn't focus so much on competition and showed more trail riding and fun things to do with horses. 8 year old girl was able to read most of it on her own with help occasionally on specific words.

I got this book for my son bc he loves horses but doesn’t like to read. Now in his spare time he reads about horses

My 8 year old granddaughter loves this book, was part of her Birthday gift. She will be taking riding lessons this whole summer & the book is Filled with loads of information on taking care of & riding your horse. She will also be able to familiarize herself with all the gear she will be using during her lessons !

Gave this as a gift to someone who just got their kids a horse & the boys thoroughly enjoyed it. The youngest one carried it around all day long! It’s not a hard read, easy for kids to understand & has pictures to keep them engaged. I wish there had been a few more basics though, like mounting & dismounting, holding reins/tacking up for English & Western. Just very simple riding fundamentals they could use for pony rides in the back yard while Mom and Dad walk beside. If this book had included that I would’ve given it 5 stars.

This book was truly a delight to read and so educational. If you are interested in learning more about owning or riding a horse or just plain love horses, this book is for you. This book is so clearly written and well organized that any child who reads it will obtain a basic knowledge of horsemanship. As someone who owns a horse and loves to ride, even I learned as I read this book. This book is a great start for anyone on their journey with horses as well as those who've already decided to make horses part of their life.

I loved how it shows you options about what breed you would want to get. I also loved how the book tells you awesome facts about horses at the bottom of the page.

This book is great for elementary age. We read it before a first horseback riding lesson and will now read it again. Very informative and practical.

My 11yr old loves this book. She just got her first pony and it’s a wealth of knowledge and easy to understand. Re purchased for my cousins daughter too.
