Perfect coffee with simple use and care
This a good, solid coffee maker with easy well lit buttons and reservoir fills from top where the permanent filter basket and grounds arre- this brews well and the clean up is simple. Dishwasher top rack for glass carafe and lid. Coffee stays hot on the heat pad and best reason to buy glass carafe instead of thermal carafe.

Works Great
Simple and good looking unit. My wife is the coffee drinker and is a certified Barista. I hate coffee, but I can make great coffee with this coffee maker. When my wife makes loving noises as she sips her coffee, I know it's good. She loves the Bold setting. I usually get up first and make about half a carafe. It is simple to do. In fact, it is so simple that this is the first time I have ever tried to make the stuff.

A great coffee maker with two minor quirks
First the good: It makes great coffee, it makes it fast, the supplied metal cone filter (what I prefer) is high-quality, and the carafe temperature is adjustable. Minor negatives: Ease of filling is only fair, the top, when open, is still in your way a bit. Secondly, you have to make sure the brewing basket has been pressed down and clicks firmly into place or the valve that releases the coffee into the carafe will only be barely open and the filter will overflow and make a mess. Once you figure this out it'll never happen again.

Makes great coffee but has poor durability
I have had this model several times over the last maybe eight years or so, and it is the best coffee maker I've had. A number of years ago a leading consumer magazine reported that it was only one of two coffee makers they tested at that time in which the water got hot enough, reaching the proper brewing temperature. It is the best coffee maker I've had. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I have had three of this model and I think a couple of the of the DCC 1200, and all of them only lasted about two years each. I usually only brew about 3 1/2 cups at a time and set the burner to stay on for only 20 to 25 minutes. Still, these coffee makers have only lasted about two years before the heating element burns out. I am replacing my last purchase in just under two years because, in this case the Bold function that slows down the brewing, has stopped working and I can't get the flavor of coffee I like. The Bold button still lights up but it does not slow down the brewing as it should, the last few times I've used it. I find I need to descale it with a mixture of water and vinegar as per instructs, every few months, which is fine, but with any Cuisinart coffee maker I've had, even if it is quite a while without cleaning and needs descaling, the Clean button which is supposed to light up when it needs cleaning, has never done so. That's a minor complaint as you can sort of tell when it needs cleaning when the brewing slows down and the temperatures is not as hot. And using the Clean function running a mixture of one third white vinegar and two thirds water usually restores it. As I mentioned, in this case the heating element is still working properly (that would probably go bad soon however based on past experience) but the Bold function just stopped working, in just under two years. It's a great coffee maker, I just wish it was more durable. Update: it probably wasn't the Bold function just the heating element going bad, and had to replace it with another of the same. See update below. One other note. I saw at least one of the reviewers complain that you couldn't raise the lid far enough to fill the reservoir from the carafe easily. This is not true. The lid can be raised to just past vertical, and all you need to do is, with the carafe lid on, rest the spout of the carafe on the top edge of the side of the coffee maker at the reservoir opening, and it is easy to pour that way. Update: It may not have been the Bold function that was at fault, just the temperature dropping. Anyway, I did get a new one of the same model. It turns out the fault not with the temperature of my coffee maker, but with a four-year-old Cuisinart Coffee Burr Mill, in which the burrs were not as sharp as they should have been, creating larger grinds mixed with powder. So I purchased a new Cuisinart Burr Mill and the coffee maker seems to be working fine. However before I discovered the real problem I had ordered yet another new 14 Cup Cuisinart Coffee, which I would have kept for a backup, except the beep that signals when the coffee is finished brewing was much louder on the previous unit, which I preferred--I could hear it in the next room. They can also be turned off for those who don't want to hear it. The tone on the on the new unit is much fainter--I can hardly hear it a few feet away, sort of like the beeps on some of their older models used to be. This seems to be a quality control issue, as I don't believe they have intentionally lowered the volume of the beep in this unit, as a review from just a couple weeks ago says it has a loud beep. Since the tone can be turned off, I prefer it to be loud enough to hear in the next room. So I returned new unit with the faint beeping sound. Based on past experience I should expect a little more than a year more of use from my current coffee maker before the element starts failing.

Great Coffee
Had a Ninja. Did not realize the difference between the two. The design, ease of use, quickness of brew, quality of taste and the 14 cup capacity make this a really great option. Warranty is impressive. Such a pleasure to use

Very happy with this!
I've never purchased anything except Black & Decker or Mr. Coffee. I thought Cuisinart was too "fancy" and expensive for me! I was wrong! This is a great coffee maker! It's a perfect size to fit under my cabinet, brews quickly and looks really nice! The coffee stays hot, well after it turns off!! I'm very happy with this choice!! Enough so that I purchased another Cuisinart appliance!

Esta cafetera sobre pasó mis expectativas, es la mejor cafetera que he tenido, está muy bonita, muchas funciones, de muy buena calidad y lo mejor es que mantiene el café súper caliente. La verdad estoy encantada.

This is a US coffee maker, fitted with a US electrical outlet plug. Unfortunately this makes it fairly useless to a UK customer like me. Even after securing a step-down converter it won't start brewing. Nothing in the original ad, including the small print and technical details, suggests this is not a UK coffee maker. Basically all told £150 wasted due to the seller and Amazon being clueless about where they are selling electrical items.

Review update March 26 2020: As previously stated this coffee maker is a solid unit. Not a single complaint. Easy to operate, fill, poor....highly recommend!! Review update: Very happy with coffee maker. Not a single complaint. Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews. Have only used a few times since being delivered a few days ago but have to say I’m very happy with the DCC-3200 in black stainless to match our kitchen. The front face is stainless with plastic stainless looking sides. Still a sharp looking machine thankfully bc it lives on the counter. Display is a crisp blue with a blue ring of light around the buttons when pressed. Low, medium or high setting for carafe. Only tried Medium so far which was still quite hot. Note-the carafe pours perfectly. I’m not sure why so many others have all these spilling issues while filling tank or cup. Not a single drop spilled period. Easy to fill large water tank. Again not difficult at all to fill considering all the other reviews that state it is. Using the supplied charcoal filter with metal basket. Very happy with unit so far. Will update review in time.
