Perhaps that made for additional caution, and it has worked well for entire summer of pool masters team swimming -- taken out and in each day. Process depending only a remote with no controls on the device is crazy, and remote instructions and actual face are not logical, useful. Use as just a countdown or count up timer is great. No battery requires long extension cord with risk of pulling down the entire device, plus chock especially on pool deck. Still, works well within its limitations.
