I have a turntable that i can't seem to connect to my sonos speakers via bluetooth. do i need a bridge of some sort?

I used a Sonos port to connect my receiver/amplifier to my Sonos speakers. My phonograph is powered through my amp. Port won’t provide the power only the connection between your receiver or amplifier and your Sonos speakers. The Sonos online chat people have been very good at helping me design my system.

Why is this device so expensive? It has no amplifier circuitry and has less features than older sonos connect products

Price gouging. Sonos audio can't even touch my pair of Focal Bookshelf speakers, paired with a Martin Logan Depth subwoofer, powered by Emotiva's Balanced 1000W amp and 2 channel Preamp. Just get a cheaper Bluetooth one and stream from Amazon music, or your personal library.

Does this stream in hi res? I have a Tidal subscription and want something that will.

Depends a little on your definition of hi res. With the new S2 operating system the Port will deliver 24/44 which is CD quality; the Sonos/S2 web site has details. The Yamaha WXC-50 does claim hi res streaming, up to 24/192 I believe, and is about $100 cheaper.

does it support utube music or pandora?

Don't know about You Tube but it does pandora.
