Great coffee.
This coffee delivered the robust, strong flavor that I’m looking for. Kind of pricey but well worth it if your into good coffee.

So pho king good
I spent 2 weeks in Vietnam in November 2023 and have been yearning for more good robusta since I left Saigon with 5 lbs of coffee as a souvenir. This True Grit is every bit as amazing as anything I got in Hanoi or Saigon and I don't have to fly for 23 hours to get it. All the rumours about robusta being bitter are false if you dial in your brew. This is meant to be brewed fast and strong, like through a phin setup. I ran mine through my espresso machine for a 2:1 shot over 35 seconds at 195° and it was divine. Nutty, dutch chocolate, red raspberries. Kind of like a peanut butter Oreo. I'm a fan for life!

Great Coffee
Nguyen is my favorite coffee. I like the darker roasts, but this still tickles my taste buds.

Uh
It is okay. We thought it was expensive and we didn't care too much for the flavor

Excellent Excellent Coffee beans That you can most certainly tell the quality of the beans
Excellent coffee. my wife is Ethiopian as well a a sous chef which unlike me has an extremely sensitive nose. As taste and smell are connected, she can dissect food into its ingredients quite well. Although the acidity is too much for her as she will always have it black. She showed me just how good the beans are. Despite having an extremely bad sense of smell (I got to hold the beans very close to my nose), I can actually SMELL the rich aroma of the beans and it is strong. I can hardly smell anything on our next strongest (I think they're arabica) beans that she prefers due to the lower acidity but their coffee beans are quite good as well. (Death Wish Coffee beans) Just to note she only uses Death wish if she doesn't roast her beans that's from sidamo (I probably butchered the spelling) Ethiopia

Great quality beans but a very light roast... maybe a bit too light, actually.
This is alright coffee, very very mild flavor, has just a subtle hint of peanut notes here or there. I have been trying in vain to replicate the type of iced coffee one gets from a Vietnamese restaurant for a while now but it has always been missing something. Admittedly I am still not there yet, but this has definitely got me one step closer. Up until now all attempts have been with Arabica-based blends, this was my first experience with 100% robusta beans and this bean type is definitely the way to go and clearly a major component that makes Vietnamese coffee so different. That said, my complaint with this specific coffee is that it seems to be a little too lightly roasted. In fact it might be the most lightly roasted coffee I have ever had, period. I threw away several beans from the bag that were still a light green color. I don't know if this super light roast was intentional or maybe I just got a bad bag or something, but for my tastes at least, it kept me from rating it higher. This coffee is at its best when consumed black and hot, it doesn't seem bold enough to stand up against sweetened condensed milk that is usually added to Vietnamese iced coffee. I bet this stuff would be fantastic with a little darker roast.

Best cup of coffee I've ever had
The best coffee I have drank or bought in my 67 years. Very smooth but high octane. Be aware if you are buying whole bean or ground. An exceptional cup of coffee in my opinion.

Coffee for serious coffee lovers
Disclosure: I have brewed exclusively as espresso, as that’s the machine I have. I have to imagine it would be great for other methods too, but I haven’t tried yet. The only word that fully captures this coffee, to me, is rich. I’m a latte person, often with homemade caramel or other syrups, but Truegrit doesn’t need a flavored syrup to shine. It’s full bodied, with unique and nuanced tasting notes that come through absolutely beautifully with milk and plain sugar over ice. If you’re looking to step up your iced latte with a little sophistication and plenty of caffeine oomph, look no further. I’ve tried all kinds of coffees, commercial, local, craft, all different blends and single origins, and this easily makes my all-time top 5. Truly superb beans, from a company I feel great supporting. Absolutely zero cons, amazing coffee that I’m sure to buy again.
