A Smart Design, Worth the Money
It would be simple to just call this a poncho liner and leave it at that. However, I don't think that would be a fair assessment. It's offered in a number of camo patterns and is water resistant in its own right, so functions equally as well as an outer garment as it does a liner. When used in conjunction with a poncho, you're effectively doubling up on the water protection. It's quite lightweight and provides good insulation. The only place this doesn't work as well for me as it might for some others is when it's converted to a sleeping bag. Being a little on the bigger side in the chest (50 inch), it gets somewhat tight bringing my shoulders inside the bag. That's the only shortfall for me, but given this is designed primarily to compliment/augment a standard rain poncho, then there's a limit to the size, so I certainly appreciate that and don't consider it to be a strike. To be a little funny about it; a standard rain poncho compliments this... not the other way around. :-) Everything else functionality-wise stated by HELIKON-TEX is an accurate statement. When worn in the poncho form, it's very comfortable and you can retain a lot of mobility. I think it's an excellent choice when you're camped (or in a hide) and wish to keep comfortable. To summarize, I think this is a great piece of kit to the point where I think it should become a standard item for almost any out-of-door activity that is hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, go bag, get home bag, automobile, etc. related. It offers a level of add-on weather protection and insulation that's just not the same from any other article of clothing that I can think of, nor have had experience with. I will definitely look to get another one sometime here in the future, so I would definitely by it again.

Goes with me on every camping trip.
Fits great, made well. Works amazing as a poncho liner and as a blanket for warmer nights. Planning on buying a second one.

If you've got the cash, buy it
Absolutely bad*ss. Makes me feel like a dadgum wizard. I've had mine for about a year and I use it for work constantly. The synthetic fill works very well even when wet, have spent a handful of storms wearing one and stayed fairly warm with my more fragile warming layers. The water treatment defends well up until there's wind, then the water will get pushed through, however like I said the fill works when wet. The ability to zip it up into a bag is huge as well. Double zipper lets me air our my feet at night after a long day in boots. Works great when you're staying somewhere with out bedsheets. It's also true to color as the rest of your gear. Would most definitely recommend, I just wish it wasn't as expensive

Quality, versatile, surprisingly warm and lightweight, packs away easily
To put the biggest con upfront and be done with it: This is still a very expensive product for what it is. That said, if you're OK with paying brand-name premium, Helikon-Tex does deliver a nice product here. Contrary to some other reviews, I personally found this poncho to be very warm for the material and weight that it is. I utilized the poncho as my only blanket and 'active wear' kind of warmth in overnight temperatures in the 40s -- Granted, I was in a tent in that particular case. Still, compared to other gear I've tried, that is noteworthy. Especially when the poncho could realistically replace any sort of blankets I would have normally brought along for camping in temperatures above 40 degrees. Wearing the poncho itself is fine. It's a poncho, so it feels like one and acts like one... Not sure what to really say here other than the material is non-offensive to my skin / normal attire and is actually quite comfortable. I've inadvertently gotten the poncho wet a few times. It dries out quickly and easily. I also have a USGI rain poncho that does indeed fit over the Helikon-Tex perfectly; They're a great match. The durability is the only part I haven't tested too much. I am somewhat cautious with my gear, even in active use, so I very much dodged and weaved every branch or thorn I could see that would snag the poncho material... I get the impression by feeling it that it could put up with only a little bit of abrasion before tearing or fraying. My blanket use and wide-open-outdoor use hasn't caused any damage, yet.

My favorite piece of gear.
I take my swagman roll and a cheap USGI poncho everywhere I go outdoors. The woobie is warm enough for 3 season use with proper other layers. Well made and worth the price.
