It says made in usa in the description but the country of origin is china. which is it?

Purchased this roller for quilt seams. Unfortunately, it leaves a metal residue on fabric equivelant to graphite shavings. How to eliminate?

I have not had that experience when using my roller. I have clean crips seams and ready to be pressed with iron.
