The plugs look good, will have to get them in a log or coffee grounds this weekend.

The product itself is a living being. It takes months for it to take root inside of wood (the denser and thicker your wood the longer it takes to fruit) So it's important that you rehydrate the wood dowels upon receiving them. It takes hours soaking in water for this to happen. (they should be sinking at least a little in water) It's obvious that they're inoculated with mycelium (or maybe they were painted who knows), but I've not had much success so far. I've tried agar, low tek, and wood. It's only been a few days so I'm optimistic. Edit- It appears the dowels are mostly inoculated, but for some reason (I think the shipping has something to do with it) grow slowly. Rehydrating them for a couple of hours seems to have started helped them. Update. Plugs are contaminated with trich. Do not buy.

There were a lot less than 100 plugs

These arrived very healthy, moist, and appear to be well populated with mycelium. The package contained enough plugs to inoculate 2, 4 inch thick 3ft long logs. Very happy with my purchase, I’ll buy from this company again!

Very nice and clean plugs. My son and I used almost all in our oak logs and then threw the rest into hardwood substrate bag. Sealed it up and over a week later we have mycelium starting to grow. We are very excited to try these mushrooms out for years to come! Thanks for the plugs!

First off, I have bought spawn plugs before, and these seemed like plain wooden dowels and a lot of loose spore rather than plugs infused with spore. Secondly, maybe this is a small business, but this package contained only 78 plugs in an ordinary baggy. I texted the company. I increased my rating by one star because I was sent a proper and full replacement after notifying the company. Hopefully, my experience was a rare one, and you will have a better experience if you choose this brand.
