## Description

Product description The vehicle in your garage can be as smart as your phone. Turn your Android smartphone or tablet into a sophisticated diagnostic scan tool and real-time parameter monitor. The VP11 directly plugs into your vehicle's OBDII port and connects to an OBD II App on your Android device via Bluetooth. Whenever you have a check engine light on or want to see how your vehicle is performing, this little gadget will help you better understand your vehicle. Check engine light on? Read trouble codes, find causes and fix it - anytime and anywhere using your smartphone. Real Time Sensor Data Access a whole new world of information about your vehicle directly on your phone (e.g. engine coolant temperature, RPM, O2 Readings, Mass air flow, Fuel Trim, etc). Create your own dashboard with the gauges you want to monitor. Product Specifications Compatible & Recommended Apps (not included; some Apps or features are not free) Common FAQs 1. Is there an App included with the device? Do I need an App subscription? Currently no. You have to get a third-party App from Google Play Store (some may NOT be free). Standard OBD-II diagnostic functions are usually free when using Car Scanner ELM OBD2 App. Be careful with Apps that imitate the names Torque or Car Scanner to ensure proper functionality. 2. Does it work with iOS devices? No, it is NOT compatible with iPhone or iPad. Please choose OBDCheck BLE for iOS devices. 3. Which vehicles and functions are supported? The device is compatible with most OBD-II compliant vehicles (MY1996+ in the US). You can get generic OBD2 functions such as reading and clearing engine trouble codes, live data, I/M readiness when using it with apps like Car Scanner ELM OBD2 or Torque. OBD-I and commercial vehicles using J1939 protocols are NOT supported. Most motorcycles are also NOT supported. Troubleshooting 1. Device does not power up (no red light). First check if the cigar fuse of your vehicle is in good condition to provide power. You can also try with another vehicle to verify. 2. Device powers up but no Bluetooth signal. Unplug and re-plug it in; Restart your phone, turn off Bluetooth and turn it back, wait for a few more seconds to check again. 3. Could not pair my Android device with “OBDII”. Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on. Try pairing a few more times; Turn off WiFi & cellular data and try again; Disconnect other Bluetooth devices; Restart your Android device; Clear Bluetooth data cache; For Car Scanner ELM OBD2 or Infocar App, you can initiate the Bluetooth pairing in App settings; For Android 13+, go to Settings->Apps->App Battery Usage, Select Show System in the menu, Select Bluetooth, then select Unrestricted; Go back and select Bluetooth Legacy, and select Unrestricted also. 4. App not connecting to OBD device. Make sure the App is compatible, and you have made the correct App connection settings and granted the App permissions (Bluetooth, or called Nearby Devices ); Remove and re-install the app; Try with a different App. 5. Cannot connect to vehicle/ECU. Make sure the OBD port is in good condition and the device fits well in it. Try to push it a little harder into the OBD port for some vehicles as powering up does not always mean a good contact . Make sure your vehicle is OBD II compliant, and ignition is turned ON; Try it on another vehicle. More FAQs and troubleshooting tips can be found in "Troubleshooting Guide" under "Safety & product resources".

Review: Works great, fast updates, quality hardware - I've been using this on a 2000 Buick Park Avenue. I use "Torque Pro" on Android and bought all the paid features to go along with it because it works so well. I tried "Torque Lite" first, which was free. Great app, imo. My phone is a Galaxy S10+ (Snapdragon 855 8 core/8GB RAM/UFS 2.1 storage @ 6gbps/Bluetooth 5.0). I am not sure what version of Bluetooth this device uses. I am assuming 4.0 from the info I'm able to find. The hardware seems to be moderately powerful because I can load my screen up with gauges and have zero slowdowns.. ever. No jamming, no lost connections. I've seriously yet to have an issue with this product or the software I'm using with it. I assume the data transfer rate of BT5.0 or higher isn't necessary. I can log .csv files and open them with any app that can read them (like Chrome, for example). But it can log and show live data without any hitches. I'd recommend it to a friend. It's mentioned everywhere, but just realize you need Android, you need Bluetooth and you need SOME kind of compatible software on your Android device that can utilize this scanner. As mentioned, I am using Torque Pro. You can change how fast some items update vs others, but a lot of mine are updating at least twice a second (I can go faster or slower) and like I said, even with a page full of data being updated, there's no slowdowns. It doesn't get hot. It constantly and smoothly updates, whew, for example, MPH (You can use GPS or OBDII speed, in this instance, I'm using OBDII and a screen to show the difference in OBDII speed vs GPS), RPM, Vacuum, Intake Temp, Load %, Throttle %, EVAP usage and more. I can't even remember what all I have on one screen. You can add formulas (you can find them online) and see if they will work for your car, too. They are for the Torque app. I can reset my codes without issue. I have a massive vacuum leak. Being a 2000 Park Avenue with the 3800 II @ 120kish miles, I'm fairly certain it's the LIM gasket. It's some head/intake gasket that blows on them all between cyl. 4 and 5, because I've had misfires there. So I got it to just mainly keep an eye on my one code that keeps popping up (IAC can't control the high idle) and ended up being able to see so much more. I really love this tool. I use it EVERY time I drive haha. I love looking down and seeing MAF cfm flow, intake temp, Volumetric Efficiency (terrible with the vacuum leak) and more. Just so many little things I didn't expect to be able to see and all updating perfectly like clockwork. So, yeah, some of this praise is to the software, but the hardware, itself, is flawless at sending data all through Bluetooth, somehow, with zero slowdowns. I'm impressed.
Review: Works with AlfaOBD - This works perfectly with AlfaOBD in my Ram. It connect to my phone and tablets BT and works exactly as designed. No need for the super expensive ones.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: When i plug it in, my abs flashed on the dash. it turns off when i remove the scan tool. what should i do? i have an 2003 toyota mr spyder.**
A: Your ABS light is flashing because it is relaying real-time data from your vehicle to the device and is temporarily in default mode.. just make sure you remove the device before driving your vehicle

**Q: This product works with Windows Phone**
A: I believe the proper Termanology is a android phone. The answer is yes.

**Q: Doe sthe unit draw against battery power when vehicle is off?**
A: It does on my xterra. The ECU also pulls power when the vehicle is off. I've not had issues with it using any more power than a phone charger.

**Q: Do I need to download a specific app for this bluetooth version scanner, and which app do you recommend?**
A: I use Torque Pro ($5 upgrade to Pro was well worth it). I think if you have a BMW you'd want a "bimmer" app.

When hauling trailers and on long trips I leave it in all the time and have (Torque) built some pages for constant dashboard display of engine load, gas mileage, temps, etc.

Torque also has a trip mode to keep saving data across starts and stops for gas and such.
