Works well with a little tweaking.
I was looking for a product so I can wear my katana without the use of an obi; this product actually fulfilled that need. As it is, it is hard to put on a katana where the kurigata is, which is why in the product photo it is shown below it. I was able to wrap it around by adding two pieces of Velcro extending the length of it. It's a tight fit, but it works well and keeps the katana in the right place for any kata movements. The overall product seems durable enough and would definitely work well for any cosplayers.

It's not as durable as I'd like, but pretty good for cosplay if you aren't planning on doing a lot of moving.

My katana's kurigata broke off the sheath, so I tried using this to fix the problem. It did not. With the kurigata working, there is no need for the frog, so I'm not sure why this product exists.

use light swords
DONT PUT REAL SWORDS IN THIS. real swords are heavy and will break this. use plastic/foam swords. this is GREAT for a sword with scabbard from say spirit halloween. made for lightweight TOY OR COSPLAY swords. pretty solid item overall

Does not hold a sword comfortably.
It seems to work, but I wish the belt was longer. I'm not a large person, but, even with the belt fully extended, it was not particularly comfortable or easy to use. Maybe this would be better for very small people or kids.
