After months of hunting and reviewing many reviews i first bought a xhdata d220 to check the quality of xhdata radio, d220 is quite a surprise in itself as it plays FM and SW brilliantly with a little help of an extended antenna ,in my case a 6m wire. And it also gets MW stations with its inbuilt antenna. now the real challenge with dial is that it's hard to tune precisely to a single frequency and you cannot figuree out the exact station frequency.I looked into other radios also but finally I settled on xhdata d808 cuz of its extended capabilities for exploring AIR n LW stations. D808 is another surprise,it's a very small radio , neatly assembled and has inbuilt battery with c type USB charging provison. although no charger is provided but it comes with all the basic accessories , a USB type c cable, a wire antenna and a battery :) it tuned all the FM stations smoothly and stored in memory. Same went for MW and SW stations. I live in a apartment type building so here the external antenna that comes with the radio helps on FM SW and AIR frequencies. I charged it to full capacity n using it 3-4 hours daily since last 2 days n still the battery status level is on full.its easily go for a week without charging on moderate usage of 2-3 hours daily. Controls fill little tricky at the start but going through manual 2-3 times helps to understand the radio better else this will appear as alien device. It has alram function, turn off timers ,beep sound on/off , keylock, backlight on/off control. Apart for this it has bandwidth selection on SW MW LW frequencies, it has option of mono and stereo on FM, FM is stereo only on earphones. Dials feel flimsy but they are enough friction to hold its position, on dials you have volume, fine tunning and frequency adjustment. The telescope antenna is okay but for better reception a wire antenna greatly enhance the reception. This can be easily observed as you got display for signal strength and SNR readings. MW /LW are tuned with help of internal ferrite antenna but a external passive loop antenna helps in for better reception.right now I'm using a DIY loop antenna but planning to get tecsun passive antenna for the same. This radio easily gets the AIR frequencies from the nearest airport , you need to know the exact frequencies to listen to them as this broadcasts are small n auto tune easily skips them while tunning. I could not use it to listen to ham communication as I'm new to that but SW allows a little excitement cuz you can tune to some random stations n you will be surprised to get those stations. For a curious person this radio has a lot to play with , for regular guys you only have FM , so if you are not really into radio than skip this radio but if you want to explore the world of radio then this could be your first world radio but this has a learning curve. It has a possible return window of 7 days so I myself trying to explore all its features so in case it has any issue i can claim the replacement n return. People have mixed reviews for this radio for me xhdata soo far is fairing good I hope it will not disappoint me. Finally today I was able to tune a active CW communication on 20m band on USB. I was not sure about this radio's Ham capabilities but today my doubt was cleared.

Xhdata D808 is a good radio with great sensitive reception. Receiving fm stations 100km away that too inside room. Battery back up is good.saving and findiging stations from pages is bit tricky.Best value for money, radio with good features

This is a small radio easy to carry, has good reception. But price is too high for the hardware. I get clear sound from the local radio stations. Distance radio stations has lot of noice, not the radio fault its due to the interference of various electronic gadgets around us. When there is no power then you can get best reception, even from stations at thousands of km away. If you are living in a remote village in India then it is the best radio you should have. FM: has good reception, in my city i get all channels with out taking out the antenna. AM LOW: there are no stations in this band in India. AM: i have one local channel in hyderabad, which i am getting clear voice, when there is no power i can here lot more channels from near by states. SW: for my area this band only working during power loss. AIR: air band is not good in this radio as i am unable to get clear signal even from near by airport which is just 20km away, however during power loss this band also working fine. Display white light is too bright, so I added a 470ohm resistor in series with it. Over all i am happy with my purchase though cost is very high.

its definitely be good but not best. purchased in sale at 6500, that price would be appropriate. functions 4/5 performance 3.7/5 build & design 4/5. out of topic i return it, not because of quality because it did not fulfill my desire.i grown up among radio listening from 1990 to 2012. i am not a tv/ mobile /computer or even fm listeners, i am a sw mw listener, so first thing i purchased from my first job first salary is this radio. after receiving it i realised that time have gone. every station i used to play was died long ago. a very painfull heart break for me.now there only memories.

3rd class product. Sound is bad. Reception is bad. Cost is extremely high.

The radio has full spectrum all the way from LW, AM, SW to FM & AirBand. So on papers this is a great radio. However, the downsides are many: 1. You can't seamlessly tune frequency. It mutes. That itself is the last thing a SWL wants to see in a radio. That's mainly due to its DSP circuitry by the way. 2. In comparison to Tecsun PL680, sensitivity is half. External antenna may improve but after all we purchase these for mobility and we would want maximum efficiency in the package itself. 3. Very poor built quality. The radio can easily break apart and it's plastic is really made up of very cheap integrity. During travel you may end up nocking the antenna out or crushing other parts of the radio.

La Xhdata D-808 es una radio multibanda capaz de sintonizar, con más o menos éxito dependiendo del lugar donde la utilices, emisoras o frecuencias FM, AM, Onda Corta, Banda Aérea y Onda Larga. Un breve resumen de mi experiencia con cada banda: • La recepción 𝐅𝐌 es impecable, buen sonido, nada de ruido y si la estación lo permite la radio te indica el nombre de la misma y el nombre del programa en ese momento, gracias al RDS. Es bastante potente y te permite escuchar de forma clara emisoras situadas a 31km del lugar de recepción, sin embargo por la noche su escucha será un poco más complicada debido a interferencias de estaciones aún más lejanas. También tiene la opción de sintonizar frecuencias a partir de 64MHz. • Su rendimiento en la recepción de frecuencias 𝐀𝐌 es también destacable, incluso durante el día, pero sin embargo, su máximo potencial se obtiene de noche. Es por la noche cuando, con únicamente con la antena interna y en zona urbana, he sido capaz de captar señales como la de BBC 5 desde el sur de España de forma clara. Por lo que su potencial para el dxing no hace falta ser explicado. • La recepción de frecuencias de 𝐎𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚 es sin duda alguna el punto fuerte de esta radio. La radio te permite captar frecuencias desde 1711 khz hasta 29999khz. Gracias a la incorporación de SSB y USB se podrán oír frecuencias de radioaficionados, ejércitos, centros meteorológicos, etc. En cuanto a la recepción general de Onda Corta hay que indicar que la radio te permite ajustar el ancho de banda para obtener una mejor calidad de audio (personalmente siempre lo tengo en 4K para diluir ruido y obtener un sonido decente). No es necesaria una antena externa para la recepción de emisoras comerciales, pero sí que es recomendable especialmente si se vive en una zona urbana, aunque sólo con la antena interna se puede escuchar con buenos resultados (dependiendo de tu ubicación geográfica) Voice of América, NHK World, China Radio International, etc. • La 𝐎𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐀𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐲 𝐎𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚 en general más complicadas de captar, de nuevo dependiendo de tu ubicación, tienen un sonido un poco más débil que en el resto de bandas, con mejores resultados por la noche. En cada una de sus bandas la radio te permite guardar bastantes señales, por lo que siempre tendrás tus emisoras favoritas guardadas y podrás sintonizar sin problema nuevas estaciones. La radio también incluye una opción para alarma (que se puede desactivar pulsando varias veces el botón de apagar hasta que aparezca la palabra "on" cuando se encienda la radio). La vida de la batería es también un plus para esta radio, ya que te puede durar con un uso intenso al menos 2 semanas y media. Realmente la única pega que le encuentro es que en ocasiones el reloj de la radio se cambia solo y lo tengo que volver a configurar manualmente. Por lo tanto recomiendo su compra encarecidamente ya que verdaderamente es una muy buena radio multibandas portátil que puedes llevar contigo a cualquier lugar y sin preocuparte de la batería. Para finalizar recomiendo adquirirla cuando esté rebajada y utilizarla con una antena externa para desbloquear su máximo potencial, aunque repito que no es realmente necesario.
