Review: Activating Latent Awareness Levels Through Ancient Samurai Warrior's Secrets - โThe Warriorโs Meditationโ book by Richard L. Haight is impeccably unique with esthetic yet practical applications to guide people with knowledge on how to reach an integrative style between meditation and busy daily life. Therefore, meditation is not a separate action or inaction from the rest of oneโs life. Intentionally directed awareness injected into the daily activities form the warriorsโ meditation and assists in the observance of thoughts, perceptions and feelings to name a few. The warriorโs meditation is not just a technique, but by applying ancient Samurai warrior secrets and Richardโs own individual and unique insights about meditation, a seeker can reach a short path into a beautiful unfoldment of what the Eastern spiritual traditions call โbecoming aware of the true nature of the Indweller.โ โThe Warriorโs Meditation is not just an accumulation of awareness, but also a shedding, a dismantling of conditioned programming in its deconstruction. This does not happen in a fell swoop or domino effect, but in a more gradual and sometimes faster paced cascading rhythm. Imagine a fully arrayed kaleidoscope with all its multifaceted pieces: the small pieces disappear exponentially and the larger designs take their place in sight. Every time the kaleidoscope shifts, the more visible the larger designs and therefore, the more beauty is captivated by the seer. What is being captivated? After the release, healing, change and transformationโthe observer is so captivated. As a mirror image, there is a discovery that oneโs own being is the living and most beauteous divine-human kaleidoscope. Mr. Haight guides meditation focusing on the senses, including the 6th sense, which is the spiritual โbeyond the beyondโ and he calls it โspherical awarenessโ, where there is an expansion to the unified field. Many spiritual traditions aim toward this expansion as it is an ebb and flow of light-energy, the soul. The shifting of the senses, like the shifting of the kaleidoscope offers a new sense of seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, smelling and esthetic feeling of expanding awareness. The discoveries from the explorations lead to the daily sensorium of the unity between dualities. Richardโs surprising humor springs up when least expected, so itโs delightful as well as informative. He addresses some pitfalls and makes recommendations on how to avoid them. At every turn, there is refreshing and practical upliftment in this journey to oneโs own self-discovery, which does not take a lifetime to attain, but meets with daily access and progress. Actions and the senses are instruments in discovering who we are, which leads to โspherical awarenessโ for extending the senses outward and conversely, inward in a rhythm of ebb and flow like the ocean---or rippling out and then whirl pooling in the center. By this very method, people can reach that center within, which is the collapse of the intention, since we pay more attention to the material world, where balance is compromised. People then expand outward by keeping open their awareness levels and thus balancing the dance of receptivity and allowance. In unification of both inner and outer fields, we can then enjoy holistically in engaging with the inner & outer sensorium in a spirit of freedom, wisdom and unification. Just fifteen minutes in the morning until it is built into the human system which Mr. Haight declares that meditation is natural and while difficult to begin with, is interwoven into the system, and with practice, becomes paradoxically easy because of its natural ability. Yet, the effort we give to enhance our lives so we can live to the fullest is well worth the challenges or obstacles that may come in the way. You are bridging a new way for the integration of meditation to be realized into the moment to moment spheres of awareness with all activities. Flash meditations are used to retrieve the awareness elements if one finds themselves in the old patterns or conditions. Cynthia Blackstone, desertcart Customer Review: Meditation isnโt something you do, itโs a way of life. - This book revolutionized how I think about meditation. I used to think it was something that needed ideal conditions to truly master (e.g., quiet room, sitting down), but now I see that this was a limited mindset as to the true capabilities that meditation offers us. The fact that meditation can be practiced in virtually any setting and time, including while reading, was an eye-opener for me. I have read other books on meditation, but this one was by far the most practical handbook for actually applying meditation in oneโs life. The steps are very helpful as a guide to get you started, but you can also transform what the book offers into your own unique meditative experience. All the tools are included to help you do this. I felt that Richard Haight was my personal trainer with his personable writing style โ it was a highly enjoyable read. Also, there was much more depth as to discussing different forms of meditation that I had never heard of in other books or in online articles. I certainly did feel that I was learning โsecretโ techniques from an expert, and I was glad the author chose to reveal them. I am someone who has read about 400 books, and this is one of the most enlightening books I have read. Many books will scratch at the surface of what the true problem is with many of us anxious, overworked, overstressed humans. For many of us, perhaps a root cause is simply that we exercise one type of being and awareness 99% of the time, and ignore another side to ourselves entirely. That other side is what this book will help with โ feeling more in tuned with nature, more aware, more at ease and relaxed, ready to handle anything without the stress. Our minds need a break from the rigid, high-stressed and focused states that we tend to be in all day โ meditation is one path to accomplish this. There usually is not one panacea to living a good life, and so I appreciated that the author touched on some other aspects of living a good life, such as healthy eating and paying attention to our emotional states. This is quite a holistic book to helping promote your wellbeing and to overcome the problems of your life. I suggest reading โThe Warriorโs Meditationโ twice and taking some notes on the book to gain the biggest benefits. On a first reading, you may not fully grasp the power of this book. I feel truly blessed that a good friend of mine recommended this book to me. Read this book, be blessed, and bless someone else with it. I. C. A fantastic book on "Warrior Meditation."
As someone who has had a lifetime love of the martial arts and related fields, (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Kenjutsu, Hanbo-Jutsu, warrior meditation, combat breathing and many other systems), for more than 7 decades, my thirst for knowledge has continued well into my senior years. This is why when I saw this 186-page soft cover book while browsing on Amazon, (The Warrior Meditation: The best-kept secret in self-improvement, cognitive enhancement, and stress relief by Richard L. Haight), I decided to purchase it. Over the years I have read numerous books on various types of breathing and meditation techniques, and I found this one to be the most interesting and unique approaches to the practice I have ever read. In short, I loved this book. Even though many of the practice exercises I was familiar with from my many years of martial art and meditation methods; nevertheless, this book has valuable information that enhanced my own personal breathing and meditation practices I practice every day. The author calls his method โThe Total Embodiment Method.โ This excellent book is organized into four parts with a total of twenty-three chapters. Part one explains the โprinciples of meditation.โ Part two covers โnatural meditation portals.โ Part three deals with โbasic TEM practice.โ Part four focuses on โDaily application.โ There is also a very informative ready and helpful reference and sources section in this book. In conclusion, if you are into the martial arts or any kind of meditation system, this is a book you may want to check out. I love this approach to warrior meditation, and I now practice the techniques taught in this book every day. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. A Refreshing Take on Meditation
I really enjoyed reading this book. Haight has a unique perspective on meditation--similar to mine--that meditation is a natural state experienced by our hunter-gatherer ancestors and utilized by the samurai class rather than specific methods. He grounds this concept within different brain states (beta versus alpha) and provides specific ways to uses the senses to experience a meditative state. I have incorporated his insights into my own practice and work with higher education students and educators. Teachers, in particular, need "mobile" meditation and mindfulness methods they can use when teaching and in action, dealing with the demands of the profession. The Warrior's Meditation provides such a portable approach. Steve Haberlin -author of "Meditation in the College Classroom: A Pedagogical Tool to Help Students De-Stress, Focus, and Connect.

Read this.
Richard Haight is the real deal. I have read a number of texts on meditation, and dabbled with many styles. Richardโs Total Embodiment Method is the most straight forward and pragmatic approach to meditation that I have found. Richard writes incredibly well. He is very clear, and thorough, while making the information accessible to people coming from any number of background. Whether it be traditional meditation, neuroscience, psychologyโRichard finds a way to make his message land; it cuts through the nonsense in a really profound and beautiful way. If you are interesting in beginning meditation, or have been meditating and are looking to expand your practice, I could not recommend this book strongly enough.

Good book for Meditative Beginners
I recommend this book to anyone beginning the meditation process and to any experienced meditator. The author teaches vagal breathing, fixed-point focus, peripheral viewing, conscious hearing, conscious tasting, conscious feeling, conscious olfaction, and spherical awareness. Each can be used as a separate meditation but together will make up the warrior's meditation. Any meditator should read this book.

A little better every day
This book has been very helpful to me. I have been interested in meditation for many years and actually have a fair amount of experience with several forms or styles. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, I have a very busy life working in a medical field that does not tend to make it easy to have a regular meditation practice, provides lots of distraction, and generally makes it difficult to maintain a meditative state of mind. I have started meditation routines and schedules, failed to maintain them, and started over numerous times. Slowly, bit by bit, this method is starting to change that. The key, in my opinion is the simplicity of it. Once the basics are understood it can be practiced multiple times during the day, while you are doing almost anything. You get lost periodically but can get it back over and over, and, it gets a little easier every day. It is really just a way to be more aware or awake as you go through life. The book has a lot of information in it and there may be a tendency to try to make the process more complicated than it is (certainly something that I am good at), or even want it to be more esoteric or mysterious, but the key is to just keep at it, every day, in a simple, open way.

Being attentive makes life more content, thoughtful, and serene.
To put it simply and elegantly, the TEM is merely a reminder that the most profound impact on our consciousness comes from silence. This book is a quick and simple read that should be carried by everyone to help them remember to re-engage with their bodies. The simplest method for maintaining equilibrium that we can all use in our daily lives. The key to pleasure is mindfulness. The task we do is more enjoyable when we are aware of it. To attain complete success and tranquility, we should apply this awareness to all aspects of our lives, including our daily routines and eating habits. The several types of meditation, such as mindfulness meditation, seated meditation, or zazen, will be recognized after reading this book. However, they carry a single, straightforward note of clarity and coherency at the heart of all meditations.

Amazing
I was really sceptical at first, I have since concluded this book is HANDS DOWN the best meditative tech I've come across. It's fast, it's simple, it's effective. Most of all...it's different. You will not be disappointed. Im a seasoned meditator and I can honestly say without a doubt this book will change the way you think about and engage in meditation. Blows other techniques out of the water.
