Monster iCarPlay Direct Connect 2000

Great in car charger/connector used in our 2008 Honda Odyssey Touring. Works perfect with iPhone 5 when connected with Apple 30 pin to Lightening adapter.

The iCar is much better construction but is larger and gets in the way of my shifter. Works perfect and I think it will las a lot longer than the iTrip version I had

The item charged the phone but the aux cord part didn't work like it said it was going to

This does exactly what I need it to: It allows me to play my iPhone music on my stereo and control the song selection with the buttons on the Monster device. I got it because I was in a car accident and I had to replace my car. My "new" car (2010 Highlander) remarkably doesn't have a USB jack so, though I can connect my iPhone to the stereo through the audio jack, I can't control the song selection using the easy buttons on my stereo. I had to use the IPhone buttons, which are frankly a little dangerous to use when driving (and now after that car accident, which was not my fault by the way!, I am really paranoid about safety.) So what I really wanted was something that would allow me to control the song selection with an easy to push button that I didn't have to look at or fiddle with. I flip through songs A LOT. I tried two other devices which didn't work for that function and this Monster device was the only thing I found that would do this. The Pros: It helps me switch songs safely while I am driving. I don't notice any problems with sound quality that other reviewers have mentioned. The Cons: It is for older models of IPhones so I had to get another connector to make it work with my model. I bought a connector on the cheap on Amazon and it didn't work so I had to buy the official Apple version for $30 or whatever. So that is an additional expense if you have a newer IPhone. It is kind bulky. In one spot, it blocked my drink holder and so I have it in the other jack which puts it right next to the shift lever of my car, which is convenient to reach while driving but also right where my kids might step if they are scrambling around in the car like little monkeys before they are buckled in the seats. There are these irrelevant buttons on it that don't work. It looks like you can fast forward OR switch to a new track. You can really only switch between tracks. No big deal to me but it is weird to make a product with buttons that don't do anything. Anyway, if the function is what you are after I'm not sure if there is another choice anyway.

I bought this to replace an earlier version. I'm so happy! Works just as described. Crisp clear sound, no static.
