Edward Gorey - Edward Gorey: 1,000 Piece Puzzle (Pomegranate Artpiece Puzzle) [Pomegranate Communications Inc.] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Edward Gorey - Edward Gorey: 1,000 Piece Puzzle (Pomegranate Artpiece Puzzle) Review: Lots of Details -- Hard but Reasonable -- Great Puzzle - As an Edward Gorey fan, the subject matter for this puzzle definitely entertained me. Whimsical, grim and weird as always. His artwork always invited multiple examinations and uncovered fun finds with each subsequent viewing -- a great thing when you're working on a puzzle! Each of the characters has a different outfit, so you have both color and texture (and even orientation of the texture) to segment and solve the puzzle. It's far from easy but equally far from impossible. Overall, I really enjoyed this puzzle. I had no production quality issues although I did find that I had incorrectly placed pieces a few times as the design of the pieces were perhaps not always as distinct as they could be. Not a big deal but just be careful. Review: Beautiful, quality, fun puzzle - Good quality cardboard. Thick enough to be substantial but thin enough to be easy to handle. No puzzle dust. Matte finish doesn’t hurt my eyes when the light changes in the evening so I can still see all the colors and textures. Came with its own ziplock so we can pack it up and send to the next friend or family member to do. Beautiful puzzle not too hard, not too easy.

Beautiful, quality, fun puzzle
Good quality cardboard. Thick enough to be substantial but thin enough to be easy to handle. No puzzle dust. Matte finish doesn’t hurt my eyes when the light changes in the evening so I can still see all the colors and textures. Top notch puzzle will satisfy the most picky of dissectologists
For people serious about doing jigsaw puzzles (as I am), it's pretty much perfect. Pros: 1) Wonderful smooth, matte finish so very little glare from your light source. 2) No mangled or splitting pieces. I mean ZERO, folks. For 1K piece puzzle, that's pretty impressive. 3) Nice, stiff pieces with very smooth edges that provide a satisfying snap. 4) Nice variety of shapes 5) Puzzle arrived completely shuffled- ZERO pieces arrived already together. Cons: NONE. I was so impressed with a previous Pomegranate "Artpiece" puzzle, I bought this one hoping it wasn't a fluke that this series is/was so nice. It wasn't. These are seriously good puzzles, folks. You will NOT be disappointed with an "Artpiece" series puzzle. Totally worth the $$$.

Fun puzzle!
The design is fantastic and the pieces fit together well. Easy to work in sections, which is nice if you have several people working it at the same time. Good quality.

High quality
Pomegranate is quality. I will buy more puzzles from these folks. The outer box is very sturdy - like you can imagine being around for another generation. The pieces are stored in a fairly heavy weight ziplock bag. Nice! Very little to no sawdust (yay!). I’m just starting the puzzle itself but the pieces look and feel nice. It’s hard to describe but it’s a sort of matte finish but smooth and polished. Sturdy pieces not easily bent. Loving Pomegranate so far!

Nice puzzle but maybe not for kids
I was cautious about buying this puzzle because some reviewers complained about the construction of the pieces. If you are going to try this puzzle with young children, yeah, be careful because the edges are relatively delicate. The puzzle is made of cardboard, not wood. Assuming it is careful adults and older children making the puzzle I will say I didn't have any problems. No missing pieces, no pieces that were devoid of coloring and none of the pieces had their image peeling off. I love the picture. I love Edward Gorey. This was, as another reviewer mentioned, a very challenging puzzle. But I looked very carefully at each person's clothing and the texture and pattern was oh so subtly different for each person. Eventually we got the whole thing together. I would have loved to have preserved it and displayed on the wall, but I don't live in a place where I can do that, lol. But yes, it's nice enough for display when completed. The colors are vibrant (for a Gorey) I mean he does stray towards grey, but the pinks and greens are vivid.

Great quality.
I have not assembled yet but im very impressed so far with the quality especially after buying some duds off Amazon. I need to pay more attention to brands this is one I will buy again annoying each piece was so busy. Its a fine quality good looking puzzle though so keeping the rating. Edited to add.... this is the hardest puzzle I've done and I got bored doing it and put it away. I just didn't seem to make progress and the markings made it

This is my favourite puzzle I've done in the last few years. Not just because it's Gorey, although that obviously gives it a hefty advantage. The pieces are thick and sturdy, so you don't have to worry about bending/breaking when taking apart pieces that came already together. It's also super fun to do, because each character has unique patterns that you THINK you can easily spot and assemble – and then your eyes start to play tricks on you. We didn't even notice the ghost until the puzzle was complete! I rarely do puzzles a second time, but this one's a keeper.
