Best humidifier under $100
Used Crane drop gallon humidifiers for about 8 years before buying this. Have tried several styles and brands over years, but Crane does it best. And this is their best humidifier yet! I’m really sensitive to dry winter air and having a humidifier going all winter has been a huge improvement in my quality of life. Pros: -First *actually* easy to clean humidifier I’ve ever found. Most humidifiers, including a lot of other Crane models, have nooks and crannies you can’t reach by hand, or even the most strategically bent bottle brush, that start to build a reddish or black mold over time even when you’re diligent about cleaning. I love that the removable parts on this just go in the top rack of my dishwasher and that the interior of the humidifier is simple and wide open so I can just stick my hand in and easy wipe away anything I need to. -It takes about 3 weeks before I notice any stuff starting to grow, compared to 2-7 days with most humidifiers. I use tap water, so my process is descale then sanitize. I sprinkle baking soda over bottom and sides, add vinegar, then go over it with a sponge. Rinse out a few times with warm water. Then fill to max line with hot water plus about a tablespoon of bleach and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly! Voila! -Top fill! I use a gallon jug that I fill in my kitchen sink and then just easily dump in the top of the humidifier. No more leaving a trail of water drops through the house. I’m a little baffled by reviewers who unplug and lug the whole humidifier to the sink for every refill. Just use a pitcher, watering can, jug, etc. -1.2 gallon tank runs for about 14 hours on high. I run it 24/7 on high and just fill it every 12ish hours. (Anytime you aren’t running it but there’s still water be sure to remove the lid or you’ll likely start growing funky stuff. Not a defect of the product; just science and the nature of any humidifier.) -Doesn’t need a filter. You don’t have to track down and replace any niche parts. Con: -While there is no machine/fan noise, the bobber thing in the mist chamber does rattle around a bit sometimes as it’s pushed up and down by the mist. I initially had this in my bedroom, but found that the noise was just enough to disturb my sleep. I moved it to the nearby living room around a corner and sleep with my door open. If it had to be in my bedroom I’d figure out a solution for the rattle (earplugs, white noise, tinkering with the mist chamber, etc) rather than buy a different humidifier. The combination of the pros are worth it and I haven’t found anything comparable for sale in the US for under $100.

Best Humidifier/Evaporator out there!!!
I live in a desert and have allergies. I have to add moisture to my room at night or my nose dries out so bad it bleeds. I tried a good half a dozen of these things before I found one that met all my needs, or at least comes close. At night I am very sensitive to every noise and light and this machine fit those needs. It does occasionally make a very soft bubbling sound. Kind of like the bubbling of a small fish tank. The lights have a night mode which turn off all the lights accept the small light letting you know it is in night mode. Personally I am so sensitive I covered that little light with black tape. My only issue is that the warm mist isn't very warm. It is slightly warmer than the cold, but not by much. Probably my favorite thing about it is it is so, so easy to clean, and it stays clean too. I know as long as they keep making them this will be the only humidifier/evaporator I ever buy again. Oh yeah and it doesn't put out that annoying whistle sound that so many of the ultrasonic machines do. That was a huge + for me!!!

A LIFE-SPAN of UNDER 8 WEEKS is completely unacceptable. Please read my written review and reply.
This machine DIED (100% failure) in less than 8 weeks of use. I'm requesting immediate refund or replacement. Winter's climate in Colorado Springs, where I've lived since 1999, is extremely dry. Despite having a high output central humidification system on my home's furnace, we find it necessary to have additional humidifiers in our bedrooms, which run almost continually on winter nights. I have owned probably about dozen room humidifiers and despite they get fairly heavy use in my home, I have always provided cleaning and service as recommended by each manufacturer. To be fair, I was initially favorably impressed with this, my first, Crane brand product. It was quiet and produced a good volume of warm, ultrasonic mist. It also had a nice, functional control panel and was simple to operate. Having owned so many room humidifiers (ranging from about $75 upwards of about $200) over the ~24 years I've lived here, on average they tend to last about three winters each. My Crane humidifier was delivered on 11/19/2023 and stopped functioning on 2/9/2024. The unit was never dropped or abused in any way - it just failed to restart after I refilled the water tank. The panel does illuminate normally light up and the controls seem to function, but no mist is produced, and no "error code" is displayed. Zero mist regardless of the settings I've tried to engage. Kindly do the right thing and either refund what I paid to Amazon Prime, or have them ship me a new unit. Thank You Steven

The Best Humidifier
This is my second humidifier- my first lasted over four years. Holds one gallon of water so it lasts all day/night. No refilling every few hours. Nightlight is great! It will run through all the colors or you can stop it on a color of your choosing. Very quiet, easy to use and has auto shut off

Pretty Good, But Does Not Work When Filled to Maximum Level
This humidifier works well if I do not fill it higher than about 1-1.5 inches (2-3cm) below the maximum fill line. The tank has a line clearly marked, to indicate the maximum allowable water level. If the tank is filled to that maximum level, mist barely comes out at all. The reliable fill level seems to be about 1 to 1.5 inches (2-3cm) below the maximum fill line. The attached videos demonstrate the problem. The first video shows the behavior when the water level is at the maximum, and no mist comes out. The second video shows the behavior when the water level is about 1/2 inch (1 cm) below the maximum, and mist comes out sporadically. The third video shows the behavior when the water level is about 1.5 inches (3 cm) below the maximum, and the mist stream comes out continuously.

I love this humidifier. It is so easy to refill from the top. That was the biggest pain I have with other ones since I used large bottles of distilled water and not tap. There is a blue light that stays on all the time. Which is not a huge deal breaker for me even though I like pitch black for sleeping. I like the night light function with the changing colours when I am just relaxing in bed. The only thing I wish was that it was easier to tell which setting it was on for humidity strength. I woke up one morning and the floor was soaked so obviously I had it on too high. It is also super quiet. Overall I highly recommend.

This item does not work for me as it doesn't have a filter like my other one for hard water. Trying to return it but Amazon is telling me it is not returnable....I haven't even use it once. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
