This knife is not only beautiful to look at but also extremely sharp and well balanced. The grip of the handle and the finger space that is built into the the blade shape really allows for the perfect cutting motion. You can see and feel the quality of both the blade and the handle. It really is beautiful. I loved the surprise of not knowing what colour I was going to receive too - and after having seen the quality of the product I have no doubt that all of the designs are just as lovely. I’m incredibly happy with it and I would 100% recommend whether you are a professional chef or just enjoy spending a lot of time in the kitchen at home (like me)!

Fantastic, recently been let down by the quality of another brand at a similar price, purchased this is a replacement gift for someone. It's fantastic as usual! I now own 6 hajegatos and have purchased 4 others as gifts I can't recommend this brand highly enough!

Okay so out of the box this knife came razor sharp no joke I shaved my arm with it. It is perfectly balanced and the handle is comfortable enough to use at any point so you dont need to pinch grip it. I have put my edge on it now ( as I have always used the same edge on my knifes but really was not necessary) and now it's already after a fue days feeling like I have had it for years and make my life at work so much more efficient. And it is just stunning to look at as well. I will be buying this brand of knife again

First impressions; a beautiul looking knife, well packed in a sturdy cardboard storage box with a magnetic catch and a sheath for the blade. The handle is quite large and comfortable to hold. The balace point is where the blade joins the handle that is ideal for me, although this a personal preference. Out of the box, the knife was not as sharp as I expected it to be, hence the 4 star rating. However, a few strokes on a ceramic honing rod sorted the problem, but this should not be necessary for a new product. Early days, but I am pleased with the results so far (preparing vegetables etc). Will update my review after more extensive use.

High Quality & well balanced I’m Chef for 20 years in central London and so happy to receive my knife and confirm its real damascus. I’m bit upset why people writing its an etched Damascus when one can clearly feel and see its a folded damascus edge to egde. If its etched damascus u can feel it with your fingers on blade. What I really liked about the knife is Sharp & uniqueness something to cheer u up and lightweight of knife makes it easier to use all day on those double shifts :)

Sharp. Like damn sharp. If it was a comedian it would slay any heckler without fear or retribution. I spent 30 mins slicing stuff that didn’t even need slicing and had to eat so many unbelievably thin pieces of tomato and gherkins I sliced some more just because I could. The pattern is beautiful, I don’t know if it’s true Damascus unetched pattern as I’m not a samurai swordsman but on really really close inspection the layers can be seen to go all the way to the edge of the knife so it appears to be what it says it is.

The blade unfortunately is not sitting in the handle straight.. only just noticed will be returning for a refund .. Pity

Ich habe schon ein paar hochwertige Messer und benutze diese auch sehr oft. Als ich auf die Unique Collection von Hajegato gestoßen bin war ich als Messer-freak direkt Feuer und Flamme und wollte es unbedingt haben. Rein optisch ist das Messer ein wirklicher Hingucker und macht die Leute, die einem beim Kochen zusehen, wirklich neidisch. Man muss aber auch sagen, dass das Messer nicht nur gut aussieht, sondern auch sehr gut performed. Es ist super ausbalanciert und leicht dadurch wird es extrem handlich und angenehm zu benutzen. Die Schärfe ist sehr gut, kann aber, wenn man will, noch durchaus gesteigert werden - so wie jeder Koch es eben brauch. Alles in allem für mich ein sehr schönes und auch sehr gutes Messer.

Bought as a gift for a friend's birthday. He said he loved the beauty of the knife and says it takes a edge nicely. Really cool knife, wish I bought one for myself.

La qualité de ce couteau (dans son entièreté) est basse, cela a l'air suspect ; a commencer par la qualité d'acier (mou, développe des dentures très vite), bois (la manche a déjà bouge dans le mien) ainsi que la finition... Je ne recommande pas.

Coltello da cucina di altissima qualità, è molto pratico e trovo che sia molto comodo da impugnare nelle diverse lavorazioni e che produce tagli ottimali. È un vero piacere nell'utilizzarlo per tagliare sia carne che pesce. Ottimo design, elegante e raffinato e grande rapporto qualità/prezzo.
