Excellent performing system
I've had this system professionally installed about two years ago, although the instructions and connectors are simple enough anyone could do it, I happened to have other unrelated plumbing work that needed to be done. It does a great job removing any flavor from the water. I get my water from a shallow well and notice a remarkable difference. I've changed filters only once, but it recommends every 6 months to ensure the membrane lasts. Note this system requires a certain pressure, I believe 40 psi. Since I live on a well with a pressure tank that fluctuates between 25 - 45 psi, I had to get a booster pump, so I opted for the zero-waste kit since it includes the booster pump. This system will go through quite a bit of water to fill the tank, so I highly recommend the zero waste kit if your plumbing system allows it (ie - water heater allows water to flow backwards).

Great Purchase
I purchased this product to install in a house that I had just purchased. Having grown up in this town, I knew that the water was barely drinkable (quality is acceptable, taste is not). I got the RO unit installed in a single afternoon, but I had to purchase a few extra pieces to connect the ice maker/water for my refrigerator. The water quality is outstanding. I no longer mind drinking water and have cut down on my soda consumption drastically. Installation was reasonably easy and I'm very happy with the purchase.

FAX if you want to hear back from customer service
What a few others have said is true, if you have a problem with the system, don't expect to receive any help. I purchased this in January by a recommendation from our plumber (he'd purchased one and had no problems) while we were getting close to finally moving into our house. After the plumber installed the Watts RO system, it worked fine for about 2 weeks, then I couldn't even get an 8th of a cup to come out in 5 minutes - the water would come out as a trickle initially, then just drips, which dripped slower and slower.... We had the plumber come out to check it, he drained the pressure tank, which was completely full of water (apparently it shouldn't be, I'm not a plumber, what do I know), and it worked again for a few days, then nothing again. He told us to contact the company and inquire about getting a new pressure tank. I emailed the company via their contact page on premierh20.com and didn't receive a response for weeks, only to receive a canned response on 2/14/14 as follows: Valued Customer, We are writing to inform you that due to a system error, your email was unfortunately routed to a mailbox that is not monitored. We do apologize for any delays and inconvenience this may have caused. We have resolved the issue and are working diligently to get back to every customer as soon as possible. Please let us know if you still require assistance with your issue, and we will be more than happy to assist you. Thank you again for your patience and understanding! WATTS Customer Service **#218850#** ------------------------------- Of course, I waited. As we had many repairs to complete on our house, even after we moved in, this was the least of our concerns. Then over a month later (3/18/14) I finally received the follow up: Hello, Thank you for contacting us! We do apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry. Is this still an occurring issue, or has it already been resolved? Please let me know so that I can assist you further. We do apologize again for the delay, please rest assured that I will make sure your issue is resolved if it has not already been addressed to your liking. I look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely, Ray C Watts Customer Service **#220880#** -------- To which I responded: Thanks, Ray. Yes we are still having this issue. The plumber believes the pressure tank is bad. Would it be possible to get a new pressure tank? Or is there another common issue that would lead to this issue (something with a hose or fitting or something)? Let me know what information you need. I'm at the office right now, but could find the instruction manual or any identification numbers this evening. Thank you, Amanda To this day I have received no further response. We've tried calling several times, waiting on hold for over 30 min and finally giving up. Called again today, and left a message with my cell number which I repeated twice. Still doubt I'll hear anything. Searched for them on BBB, they get an F, as they have not responded to 3 complaints filed against the business through the BBB. Not surprised and wish I'd have known sooner. Update as of 8/8/14: I decided to contact them one final way as a final opportunity to rectify this situation, via FAX. I summarized my problem with the product and with customer service on the cover sheet and attached my communications and my Amazon order sheet. I got a phone call within a few hours and they are sending a new pressure tank and gave me instructions for returning the label from the old tank. Will update my star rating when I receive the new tank and have it installed to determine if this system is working correctly with the new tank.

It a RO kit for a good price.
Watts make good stuff. I have 2 of these in my house. The first one my Water softener installer put in. This one I put in a new kitchen. One thing, if you are not mechanically inclined get a pro to do it. Read all the instructions and proceed slowly once you have the right tools. note make sure that you properly secure the waste drain and tighten or this can be a location for leaks. What I did was to put some foam heavy duty tape around the pipe before clamping. Since it is waste water, no harm and you dont get that small puddle that you do with a half arse job some plumbers apprentice would do.

Works good after much troubleshooting
Had a continuous small leakage (1/2 cup in 16 minutes) through the system drain line (when the water tank was full and the unit should have been shut off), up to the faucet and down into the sink drain pipes. Sometimes it would leak on to the sink top through the faucet vent hole. This went on for 6 weeks with at least 3 calls to Watts. Watts techs provided a new Shut Off Valve, and then a drain line check valve, which did not fix the problem. Finally, Watts sent me a new Membrane and when I took out the old Membrane, it was distorted about 3/8 inch, causing the leakage. Apparently the person who assembled the unit drove it in hard, damaging the membrane, due to a tightness in the housing. I installed the new Membrane in an old Membrane housing from a previous unit, to fix the problem (the new membrane was taking too much force to install in its housing). Watts did send me a new housing, which I will install at the first filter maintenance. Watts was cooperative in fixing the problem, but the damaged membrane should have been fixed before shipping and this took way too long to fix.

Works as advertised. Easy to install
The biggest challenge you'll have installing this yourself is finding the best place to mount it. It is fairly large so you'll need to plan carefully, after all, you'll have to service it. For all those who said the instructions were vague and hard to follow . . . bunk. There was only one mistake, and if you take the time to read the instructions carefully, before you start, you'll figure it out quickly. Maybe it was all my training as an Air Force aircraft mechanic, but I have faith in you. You can do it, easily. Now go do it.

so far its a great unit
I am glad that I finally settled on this unit. I had this unit bookmarked for over a year until I bought it. I decided to mount the unit in our utility room in the basement where we have a utility sink rather than putting it under the sink in the kitchen upstairs. We have two RO faucets, one in the utility room and another plumbed into the kitchen, and as far as I am concerned it is the only way to do this. So far, zero leaks, and it was fairly simple to install. I will however say that the instructions were flat out terrible. The instructions that came with it were for the older plumbing option that they used to have, and mine came with the new connections that were different. It did come with an added piece of paper that attempted to explain how to hook it up, but still was not as straight forward as I was expecting. All in all if you go through it, it starts to make sense and the installation was a success. My total installation including upgrading the valves for the sink, and the sink trap took me about 2.5 hours. I would recommend taking the main shutoff valve that comes with this unit and throwing it in the trash. I went to the local hardware store and purchased a 1/4 turn ball valve that had two outlets on it, one that was 3/8" for the sink and a 1/4" for the RO unit. Get some of the plastic seals and a brass stiffener and you should never have a leak (dont use the brass compression ring that comes with the valve on plastic tubing, they cost about 10 cents to replace with a plastic one). Just looking at the valve that came with it, I was unimpressed and it looked like a future source for leaks. Less than $10 to give me peace of mind. My last issue was that the hoses that came with this unit were fairly short... I went ahead and bought some ice maker 1/4" tubing to extend some of the tubes. If installing under a sink it might be fine, but even still they seemed a bit short. Luckily most of these upgrades were fairly inexpensive. All the hardware stores also sell the push connection Watts connectors which makes for a fast installation. Wasnt too whoopie with the faucet that came with it, but its just a run of the mill RO faucet. Appears all metal or mostly metal. We use the one that came with it for the utility room, good for filling the iron, or just for water in the basement. I went ahead and bought a total dissolved solids meter while I was at it, less than $15, and its pretty cool to see how the water quality improves. Standard tap water in our location was about 360PPM. After flushing the system the first time I was getting about 45PPM through the RO system. I flushed it two additional times and got 32PPM. Have not tested since, but I am satisfied in the 30PPM range. I also think this is a great tool to help you decide when it is time to change the filters.
