Melissa & Doug Wooden Railway Set, 130 Pieces

6 MONTH REVIEW Purchased this item about 6 months ago and have to say it has been played with every single day. Item is extremely sturdy and has been through so much wear and tear and everything is still intact. It is played with in some form every day. A toddler can definitely help put it together. It appears almost brand new after months. I know it is expensive compared to others on the market, but it is well worth it compared to how well it holds up. The colors and perfect and not too overstimulating. Would recommended to splurge on this instead of others on the market! See picture for reference!

It’s a great train set! We also bought the Melissa and dough play table for it to go on and it fits perfectly. I would recommend getting blu tack or some other putty to stabilize it because it does slide around quite a bit, but for the most part it’s great for the price.

Wonderful Christmas present for my 3 year old granddaughter. She loves playing with it and so does her daddy.

Bought this set for my train obsessed 3-year-old. He loves it! Pros: the set is a great quality and will last forever. There are endless combinations for the set, and comes with four different configuration instructions to help me until my toddler can come up with his own set-up. The other stand alone magnet train sets are compatible with this set, which is great to add to what comes with the set. Cons: The blocks used for the elevated tracks are very easy to unsettle and leads to a mess. My 1 yo is now renamed Godzilla for her excellent destruction skills. Small complaint, but there is only one of the configurations that fits the table you can buy (pictured). I don't love having to get creative when my toddler asks for a change up. And more of just a warning than a con: this is a real wood set and has a real wood smell for a while after unpacking.

If you own or have a friend who has a 3d printer, and print some elevated rail support pieces this set is fantastic for the price. If you don't, the supports that come in the box for the elevated rails are terrible.

Lots of fun with various pieces. The quality seems okay.

Terrible packaging that leaves tiny styrofoam pieces everywhere, which is especially bad if there are younger siblings. Takes forever just to unpack all the individual packing. Poor quality control. Some pieces don’t line up or connect well. Some of the structures, such as the tower is wobbly. Good design, fun toy for toddler, but buyers may want to consider other options, considering the high price tag.

The track connects very loosely and comes apart too easily. Magnets are very weak. Crane magnets don’t even work. Disappointed with this purchase.
