EXCELLENT
EXCELLENT!Normally I don't write many reviews...but I thought I should and was "duty bound" for this little Gem.I have recently upgraded to salt pool this summer and find it requires no effort except occasional acid for the pH... and the salt pool chlorine generator works GREAT. So I wanted to automate the cleaning / vac side of the pool chores but not spend the $600+ the pool store wanted. (by the way...get educated on pool chemistry, learn what works.... and stay the hell away from the $$$$$$$$$ pool store chemicals!!!!!!!!!!!)... So for less than $90, I bought this guy. Figured I couldn't lose and the reviews I saw were good.DELIVERY 5 STARS, 2 DAYS ON PRIME; PACKAGING: GREAT, well protected and everything was in good shape. I'm sorry bu the "trendy" Green Packging usually results in a broekn delivery and a dead product.....ASSEMBLY: Well, the manual was only "so-so OK", but being an engineer LOL it was easy (lets say my wife would have had a bit more trouble, sorry honey)....After the krawler portion was assembled fully...I first took the hoses and regulator/skimmer adapter parts to connect to the pool return skimmer on the pool deck and connected all the hose pieces and plugged it in to the skimmer suction hole. You need to remove the basket of course. I have two skimmers, used the one at the deep end. I connected the other end of the hose (about 33 feet total) to the completed kreepy vac assembly (easy) and dropped it in the shallow end. My pool is only about 6.5 foot deep at the deep end, so I put the two hose weights exactly where the manual said for my pool depth and it seems to be the right place so far. They provide three weights. They say for best operation the hose should come up at a 45 degree angle, so I just observed it and it was indeed right at 45. Nice..... Once the kreepy sunk to the bottom of the pool...I filled the hose from a bucket of water and it was all set. I fired up the pump.Lets just say the pool was in need of a decent vacuuming...it had some larger leaves, maybe the size of a lemon or more and relatively new to the pool (so not decayed)....and a zillion little specks of dirt and organic debris that had been there for over a week. We had big storms about 3-4 days ago. My pool is in S. MD Calvert County, I have a lot of tress within anywhere from 20 to 50 yards, in two directions. When the wind / rain picks up....a lot of leaves and small branches are afloat. And of course, no screened "bird-cage enclosure"...so it's prudent to go use the hand skimmer after a storm if you can.So, I fired it up at 11 AM, and by 2:20 PM the pool is 90% cleaned. Excellent. I am blown away. For <$90, this is a great tool.I then swept the pool to stir up what was left (in a few pockets) and I'm going to let it go for a while longer and check it.....but so far...EXCELLENTI'm thinking if I let it run longer it would have gotten everything but the rger newer leaves.PROS: It so far has not got caught on the pool drain suction and pool drain return at the deep end. I was worried about that, getting stuck there. I have the newer "Virginia Baker" drain covers. When it first started chugging around the pool, it left clean white stripes on the bottom ...picking up hundreds of little pieces of dirt and debris, so it was easy to see it was working. Easy to assemble and use. I'm thinking I'll not leave it in all the time, but drop it in evenings and let it run over night once a week or so....It's light....so it's easy to pick up and store in a pool deck box.CONS: very few....about the only thing I can say is so far it does not pick up larger leaves on the bottom that are newer and anything the size of a lemon or larger.....So, you'll want to use a leaf rake or other mean to get the big pieces out. If the leaf has decayed to where you can see the veins of the leaf...it will get that.I didn't backwash my filter before running ...but it was fairly clean to start and the gauge was at the "clean" position....I'll do that soon after the first cleaning is done. Note: As I said I have TWO skimmers, and I left the valve for the other skimmer at the shallow in 50% open. It may work just fine leaving second skimmer 100% open, and if so that is a big plus. Also it looks like the regulator on the hose assembly in the skimmer is allowing water from the skimmer to come in tot he filter too. I think that is good....don't know for sure.A few things to know: It seems to like going over the outer perimeter floor and walls a lot. It actually goes up the side walls about 3 feet which I think is good. Less need to brush walls I would think... It spends a lot of time at the pool perimeter edges at the bottom too....but eventually it gets to most everywhere. I have a large step up shallow area where 3-4 people can lay out or lounge by the steps at the shallow end...it's about 18 inches above the shallowest end of the pool...it won't go up there...but that is absolutely not as problem as it takes ten seconds to sweep debris from that area back in to the main area of the pool. . It does not seem to be affected by the return stream of water (2) coming from the shallow end of the pool.I lived in FL for a LONG time and had in my pool there the BEST system ever, called Turbo Clean. Look it up....but it comes with the pool when it's built. You can't add it and spare parts are often and pricey...but it works GREAT....With a screen enclosure, I never once vacuumed for 20 years. But for the price, this is as good an option as you could ever hope for....If you are on the fence about buying this, jump off and buy it. Can't wait to go swimming later today (It's +95F) :)

7 years later
UPDATE 2024: It lasted 7 years before it finally gave in. The plastic notches that retain the screwed-on plate have succumbed to UV and it sucks the plate onto the flapper preventing the flapper from moving. I can get it going with a jiggle of the flapper. But that's a hassle. So $14/year is alright by me.I'm ordering another now. And it's less expensive than 7 years ago!UPDATE 2021: I'm on my 5th season with this Vacuum in the evergreen state. It's still going strong. I've had to take it apart a couple of times for cleaning, lubing and tune-ups. Nothing major. Most of the tips from my original review have been streamlined.Tip Updates1 - I don't use the inline filter anymore. I use non-woven hair nets on the skimmer basket all the time. And that suffices for the vacuum to keep debris out of my pump/filter/heater.2 - I don't even try to get the vacuum to the shallow end. I use the pool brush on a long pole and push debris from the shallow end to the deep end. Let the vacuum do the work.3 - I rarely mess with the weights anymore. It gets "good enough" with three weights.4 - I haven't put the directional jet on in a few years. It lowered the flow requiring more RPMs (and more pressure) to drive the vacuum. And it didn't really improve circulation. I ended up putting a standard eyeball on.I'm a big fan of this vacuum. $18 a year is great. I really think mine has a lot more life in it too.Check out ProTuff nets. They are also amazing. Great for getting big debris, left behind toys, and quick winter cleanings (not polishing). Lifetime warranty. B07PKTH7Q8Also, check out the ProTuff pole. Sturdy and stiff. Heavier, but I prefer it to the lightweight aluminum poles. Lifetime warranty. B00KCXXVPQ--------------ORIGINAL REVIEWIt works well and for the price is a great find. I'm about a month into using it. Definitely see some of the tips from other reviewers. I have a 40'x20' vinyl pool with a shallow (3') and deep end (10'). The pool is a long hexagon shape with very rounded transitions. I had to buy the extension hoses to reach all the way across the pool. I have a ton of pine needles and cones from the giant trees in our yard. I have a couple of tricks to share.1. I got a "Hayward W560 PoolVac Navigator Standard Leaf Canister" and some "10-Pack of Pool Skimmer Socks - Perfect Savers for Filters, Baskets, and Skimmers." The ends of the canister fit the pool vacuum hoses if you reverse the basket. The pool sock in the basket catches 99% of the debris from the vacuum and keeps it out of my filter, pump and heater. I'll buy some couplers later to be able to change the flow direction back to normal.2. The vacuum tends toward the deep end because of the slope of my pool (regardless of how I do the weights). I tie some cord to the hose and then to an anchor (pool fence), locking the hose slack to the edge of the pool. I leave enough extra hose after the tie off to allow the vacuum to sweep the region I'm focusing on. I move the tie off cord to various positions around my pool and leave it for an hour or so. Moving the tie from one side of the pool to the other helps by inverting the clockwise direction of the sweeper.3. For the deep end, I vary the weights to cover different depths (working down from the surface). First one weight to get high on the deep end. Then two weights to get the contours. Finally, three weights to clean the bottom.4. Get a directional jet. I got "Infusion V-fitting for Inlet and Return Line, Venturi, White" because my pool did not have a directional return, just an open pipe with internal threading. The directional jet keeps the return from pushing the vacuum. It also helps sweep debris toward the deep end. It also helps with the heater efficiency.

Good cleaner with the worst directions enclosed
First off the best thing you can do if you buy this is to watch the utube video on how to put it together. Yep, you do have to put it together.I will say that once I put the product together and got it in the pool it works GREAT. So far so good with using it.But please save yourself and go to utube.com for Xtremepower US and WATCH directions on how to put it together or you will probably will return it out of frustration.I do believe the utube video is actually done by the real company that makes this pool cleaner. And not just a consumer. The directions on utube do not match the directions on the paperwork that are enclosed with this cleaner. Or at least not at all the same step by step. The paper directions don’t list what comes in the box. They also start in a way that makes it difficult to follow along. No step by step, just a blurry picture that makes zero sense since you don’t have a reference point to begin with. Then there is a paragraph that kind of talks about putting it together, but doesn’t help.Xtremepower US should be embarrassed for enclosing the worst directions with a product that I’ve ever seen. The directions are in English and yet they do not list what comes in the box, they do not list the step by step way to put it together. And if you can follow the written directions you will find that they have you try and put it together in the worst way.Although the video isn’t super simple it’s better then the paper directions. Plus it could be much better. But at least by watching it you will know if you have all the parts that come with the product. And although I’ve seen better videos out there by someone not affiliated with the company, just a regular consumer-it’s still a hundred times better than the paper directions. Now the good part-once I had it put together and working I can say I like it better then the Pentair Kreepy that it looks like. My Pentair Kreepy stopped working 3 years after getting it. It fell apart. So I decided to try this cheaper version.I was really pleasantly surprised at how quickly it cleaned up my pool. I hadn’t had a pool cleaner working in the pool for a week. With the onset to fall there were a fair amount of leaves and stuff on the bottom of the pool too. This little cleaner had my in ground pool cleaned up, all the leaves etc in no time flat. I honestly had the biggest smile on my face when I saw what a great job it did in record time.I’ve had a pool for about 25 years. And from day one I’ve always had a Pentair Kreepy. I love that they clean the sides really well without falling off, and don’t get stuck in places(too much if you have the hose correct)It’s not great on some stairs but that’s not bad. No pool cleaner is perfect.Anyway, for the money this Kreepy is great. The other higher priced Kreepy’s don’t last long. And since I’ve never had any other type of pool cleaner then the more expensive Kreepy, I don’t know if that’s normal or not. After saying all that, this pool cleaner is equal or better then the more expensive versions I’ve been buying. Plus with the mark down price(probably due to having the worst directions on putting it together)makes it worth trying.I’m really happy so far with this pool cleaner, now that I was able to follow the utube video and get it in the pool doing its job. I would recommend buying it. It’s worth it for the money to put it together. FYI:a savings of over $240 compared to the lowest priced Kreepy.

Great performance initially, but disappointed with the durability
I purchased this pool vacuum back in August 2025. For the first few months, I was quite happy with how it performed. While it initially had some issues getting stuck on the pool corners, I was able to resolve that by adjusting the tension bands. However, there are two main things prospective buyers should be aware of:1. Noise and Vibration: If you are sensitive to noise, please take this into account. The vacuum produces a noticeable amount of noise and vibration while running. It was loud enough to be disruptive when trying to sleep during the day, which was a concern for me.2. Durability: I am very disappointed that the plastic components broke in less than a year of normal use. I expected a longer lifespan for a product in this category.Given that it has been less than a year since my purchase, I am hoping the manufacturer can offer some assistance or support regarding the warranty or replacement parts for the broken plastic sections. I would appreciate it if the company could reach out to help resolve this issue.--------------------------UPDATE (March 2026):I have to change my rating. The plastic part broke in less than a year of normal use. I contacted customer service for a warranty claim, but they refused to help. They told me the warranty for parts is only 90 days, which is very short for a pool vacuum.I am very disappointed with their support. It’s a waste of money if it breaks this fast and the company doesn't care. I do not recommend this product because of the poor durability and bad customer service.

Was expecting alot more from this
For my budget this pool cleaner seemed like it was going to be the best bang for the buck. Everything seemed in good working order. Sounded promising. Than we used it at first it seemed promising. Just seemed like we needed to get the weights in the right area. Everytime it seemed we got it. It would either stay in the bottom of the pool and not climb to the top of our walls. Or it would reach the top and only clean portions of the pool. Wouldn't cycle the hole thing.

Works like a Champ.
The other pool vacuum cleaners that I owned cost way more than this one. This one was about a third of the price and it outperformed the other two by a fair margin. The instructions could use a more detailed description (picture wise) of how to get the bottom rubber cleaner over the top of the base. (Hint) Once you do get it over the base, which will require a little muscle, the next step is to get it to fit in the grove above the base, where it will fit with a little tugging. When I turned it on it went right to work moving all around the pool. It works differently then most other pool cleaners in that it pushes the hose instead of pulling it along. This method seems to work a lot better because it isn't influenced by the pool jets as much as the ones that pull the hose. The weights should be installed according to the instructions at first, but can be adjusted later on to the distance that works best for you. The rubber mat should lie pretty much flat for best performance. (Hint) Because of the click, click vibration of its moving mechanism, the weights will tend to move about from where you set them. This can be remedied by using a nylon cable tie where you want them to stay put.I actually bought this about a month ago but waited to do my evaluation because I thought it would be more reliable after observing how it performs during that time. I Give it 5 + on performance. Never had one that worked this well. My hat is off to the engineers and designers at Xtremepower for getting it right. Different design with great results.I hope this helps.

Simple product, great price, does a great job if you actually RTFM
UPDATE 8/8/16:Still going strong after almost non-stop use-- can't understand why anyone would pay 3-5X more for the "name brand." We basically just leave this running all the time now unless we are actually swimming. Still works like a champ! As other reviewers have noted, the flapper will occasionally jam and stop flapping (usually with something invisible)-- wiggling the flapper back and forth a few times by hand, or (as other reviewers have suggested) shooting a jet at high pressure from a garden hose against it for a minute or two is always enough to get it moving again. If reassembling/reusing after seasonal storage, be sure to wiggle the flapper back and forth several times before immersing, so that you are sure it has no obstructions. The vac makes a distinctive ticking or clacking noise as it operates-- if this noise stops, your flapper isn't moving. If you hear the noise, all is normal. One reviewer did mention being able to remove the regulator connection and not having any issues. I have an above-ground, flat-bottomed, circular vinyl pool, and without the regulator the vac just sits in one place. With the regulator the vac drives itself randomly around the pool. YMMV.UPDATE 5/8/16:Just hooked this up again, easy as pie, the pieces were stored flat and disassembled over the winter and there's no visible age damage beyong a bit of bleaching on the rubber skirt (which is still flexible). It's doing its snare drum routine as I write this. For more info than the rest of my orig review and update, see the most helpful review-- everything he says is right on the money-- with a powerful enough filter in good shape, this vac will do the job, period. As far as I'm concerned, it's already paid for itself in only two seasons and it's still going strong. I still do wish it had a ramdomizing rudder though LOL.UPDATE 8/7/15:This cleaner is still going strong with no problems. I did want to add one more RTFM corroboration-- when storing or not using, you really do need to store the hoses in straight lines. We made the mistake of leaving it very loosely coiled on the deck in the sun and that one day was enough to result in it tying itself in knots the next time we used it. Had to disconnect the hoses into sections of 3 and lay them out in the sun to "straighten" in order to correct this.So far the only thing that has managed to "stop" it was a bent popsicle stick (how did that even get into the pool???) which was removed without issues and had no longterm effect at all.I'd add one feature if I had any engineering ability at all-- an adjustable "fin" or rudder to force the vac to fight against the return flow current, in order to better randomize the cleaning pattern in circular pools.Overall, still 5 stars in my book, and we've used it *at least* weekly all season long. A GREAT product at a fraction of the brandname price.====================Orig review:I love this cleaner! No more sore back after manually vacuuming! Regarding the three most common complaints:1) Yes, the suction will stop if the flapper gets jammed. Just lift the vac GENTLY AND SLOWLY out of the water and remove the object (almost always a rock, large leaf, or small stick or twig that is just too big or too inflexible to be ingested). If you can't see what is causing the jam, just squirt a jet from your garden hose into the square flapper port for a minute or two-- that should knock out any troublesome sand or gravel. With us, it seems to be airsoft pellets most often, although they often get vacuumed without any issues. This vac is designed to remove dirt and algea-- the instructions tell you to remove large debris from your pool PRIOR to use.2) This is a very simple, mechanical device designed to move SLOWLY, underwater, using water pressure only. If your filter pump doesn't have the minimum hp stated in the specs, it won't work in your pool. If you don't follow the instructions carefully, it won't work properly (or at all) so read the specs BEFORE you buy, and RTFM when you assemble and use it! If it doesn't work perfectly, adjust weights, hose, and return flow direction until it does. RTFM.3) The skirt fits very loosely by design-- if you lift the vac out of the water too quickly, the drag WILL pull the skirt off and you will have to put it back. Water is HEAVY (8 lbs per gallon) and you're basically yanking the skirt off when you do this.I did end up using all the hose because our pool is circular and the hose tends to shorten by coiling.Overall this does a great job and you can't beat the price!

Just sits in the same spot no matter what I adjust
Doesn’t work well in my in-ground pool. I’ve adjusted the hose length, the weights, the valve where it attaches at the wall, and the flow of the water from the eyes around the pool and no matter what all it does is sit at the base of the steps. Waste of money and SO MUCH TIME!
User
Stays still does not scrub or clean Does not climb walls doe not clean just a glorified foot valve
This is a total waste of time and money. Two Engineers and one plumber and a very good mechanic tried for a full day to get this creepy cleaner to move around. You have to connect it to a pump and It just sucks water and routes it through your existing filter for cleaning. It does no cleaning work as advertised, it does not move an inch . it does not Scrub, Ot does not rotate or clean, it does not climb walls to clean them, It has practically no purpose. A foot valve will do a better job. Unbelievable waste of my money. I want to return it and get my refund.

Tom Sucks bigtime👍♥️
This is an awesome product. Easy assembly great suction. After awhile It stopped working and floated up to the top surface of the water. It lost its suction. I thought great!! Its a dud!!. Then I realized as the dirtwas sucking up all these tiny little sticks were making their way through, and the pumps filter basket became clogged. I emptied it and he immediatly started sucking again with ease. I adjusted the weights a few times and I was impressed at the different path it would take every time. Compared to similar machines at the pool supply place for 300$++ this is a great unit. I called mine "Tom"

A **Review of Pool: A Game Changer for Pool Owners**
I typically do not write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with this exceptional pool cleaner, which offers remarkable value for money. For fellow pool owners who, like me, you have spent countless hours manually cleaning their pools, this product is a game changer! With a modest investment of just over £100, you can reclaim your time and truly enjoy your summer. The manufacturer has taken an innovative approach by including QR codes in the instruction manual for both Apple and Android devices. By scanning these codes with your camera, you can easily access step-by-step YouTube videos that guide you through installation, maintenance, and operation of the pool cleaner. There's even a second QR code that links to a troubleshooting guide, helping you resolve any potential issues you may encounter during setup or use.I can relate to the challenges faced by many, especially those over 50, when it comes to reading and understanding instruction manuals. Often, these manuals are poorly translated, printed in small fonts, or overly complicated. Fortunately, the process for this pool cleaner was refreshingly straightforward. I simply downloaded the instructional videos from the QR codes and followed them precisely. The installation was seamless; I utilized the provided chart to determine the appropriate number of hose pieces and weights based on my pool's length and depth. These instructions included critical details, such as positioning the weights at a 45-degree angle and adjusting the skimmer for optimal vacuuming results. After meticulously following the instructions, I submerged the cleaner into the pool, ensuring that all air was released from the hoses. Upon connecting the hose to my skimmer, the vacuum began working efficiently, cleaning my pool meticulously over several hours. I left the pump running overnight, and by morning, I was thrilled to find my entire pool spotless. However, my only issue arose with Amazon Prime, the delivery service responsible for my order. They attempted delivery at 11:42 PM, and the communication method was less than ideal. I received a vague text message from an unfamiliar number that lacked any mention of Amazon or specific order details. This left me anxious, especially as my wife was home alone. I felt compelled to respond, expressing my concerns and requesting verification of the delivery driver’s identity before accepting the parcel.Regrettably, due to my anxiety about leaving my wife alone with an unidentified delivery person, I called the police for assistance. To my surprise, it turned out to be a legitimate delivery attempt. Consequently, I refused the package, which led to rescheduling the delivery for a few days later. This was particularly frustrating as I had ordered the cleaner in anticipation of my son's birthday party. The following day, I contacted both Amazon and the delivery company to express my concerns—not about the driver, who was simply trying to fulfill his duties, but about the notification process. I suggested that including order or tracking numbers in the text messages would significantly enhance recipient confidence and reduce confusion.
