Nice and smooth, everything works great

I love this reel. Is it a Shimano? No. But I don’t need that on a Catfish rod that’s going to take tremendous abuse from fish and to be honest, me, because I am clumsy and hard on equipment. This is a solid, cost effective Bait Runner that let’s me have the fish hook itself (thank you BKK ringed mutsu hooks, I love you so much) because again, I am kind of clumsy. The bait runner feature and the price point on Okuma’s has let me start experimenting with Bait Runners on my ultra lift finesse rigs. It casts well, reels in smoothly, and has solid drag for a reel at this price point, and bonus, it looks nice. For now. Give me a season to beat the tar of it. But since my most used rig is an 8 year old Okuma and I have beat the bejesus out of that and it still works, I am not worried about it over the long term.I have become an Okuma fan girl since I started fishing later in life. These are great value rights for people learning. I would put these on anything I gifted a child, a teenager or someone first learning who needs to learn technique without worrying about breaking their gear.

The reel has held up to many trips to the coast. Still smooth and gets the job done.

Over all very satisfied with the purchaseReel feels good and balance well with the correct rod. The only issue is the max drag even though very smooth is only 12-14 lbs for the size of the reel I would have expected a little more stopping powerBut again over all great deal and reel first fish on the live line bait runner was a 28.25” 7lb 11 oz brown trout

Caught 8 to 12lb wipers on it with no problems, have not used it on cats or anything over 15lbs. It's plastic so not as right but inexpensive and works great as a bait runner for big wipers.

I'm a Surf and Bank Saltwater Fishing Guide. So my equipment gets used a lot ! I been using Okuma Reels for over 12 years now, with Zero issues. I'm still using those same reels I bought over 12 yrs ago. I now only use Okuma bait feeders on my Saltwater outfits. These reels are solid and very smooth. I have tried some others like Penn, Shimano etc...The Okuma's have out performed and out lasted all of them and they cost about half the price !

I love these!!! All sizes!!!I'll never buy a real without the levered dual drag.

I paired this reel with a 9' Daiwa Emcast heavy action rod and 20# KastKing line. It works awesome for pompano in the surf and stripers in fresh water.
