Great tool I expect to have & use for years
Works really well. Have used on all of my cars to reset codes and check them: 2004 Lexus sc430, 2005 Chevy s10 and 2005 Scion xB. No complaints. Pretty intuitive device. Actually made by Bosch and same as Bosch units, just a good bit cheaper. The manual says Bosch. Must have tool for the average home handyman/mechanic. Same one used by local Advanced Auto.

Melted cord.
First one arrived with a melted cord just like in Dean's review. Must be some really disgruntled employees at the factory. As others have said, it is a budget Bosch. Screen and manual identify it as a Bosch product. At this time, I somewhat regret trying to save the $50 difference between this and the equivalent Bosch from the local parts store, but I will give it one more shot and see if the replacement is in the same sad state. Update: The replacement unit was just fine. Updated its software and used it only on one vehicle so far, but it worked like a charm. So I'll bump it from a 1 star. Regarding the software update, it was very slow. The first attempt actually stalled after about 15 minutes. I was afraid of cancelling the update for fear of bricking the device, but when it hadn't progressed any further after an hour I went ahead and cancelled it and immediately ran the software updater again. It worked fine the second time around. Still took over 30 minutes, but it didn't stall and the device wasn't bricked by cancelling the first update attempt.

Nice For The Price
I have an old-school Snap-On scanner, as I used to do a lot of repair work. It finally winked out after many years of use/abuse. Today I only maintain 3 vehicles, so there's no need for a full-blown commercial model. But, I wanted something more than a basic code-clearer. Very happy with this scanner so far. The display is a vast improvement over my old pro scanner. Easy to read and navigate, with a logical button layout and positive feedback. Buttons are well-protected, covered with rubber boots. Don't know if they're waterproof, but they should resist most gunk and grease. More rugged than I expected from a DIY tool, although it could use more rubber case cushioning. In operation, it works as advertised. Recognized all three of our domestic vehicles (2002,2003,2013). I miss some features of my pro scanner, such as the ability to test individual sensors and PCM programming, but that's not a deal-breaker at this price. The Code Connect troubleshooter is impressive. As I scrolled through the various codes and likely causes, it seemed obvious that this was compiled by experienced mechanics. Firmware is updateable, a big plus. I expect this unit will stay fairly current for many years to come. Not cheap, but for it's intended purpose it's a good value. Sort of a bridge between blue-chip scanners and cheap throw-aways. If you plan on diagnosing and repairing yourself, can't go wrong here.

Awesome product and easy to use
Awesome product and easy to use. I used it on 03 impala and diagnosis was mass air flow sensor. Replaced senor and it runs perfect. Scanned a Dodge Nitro and 98 Pontiac, both had small vacuum leak. Replaced gas cap on both, reset codes and no further isdues.

Excellent Scanner for the Money!!!.....
This is an Excellent Scanner for the DIYer's....it has Been a Huge Improvement Over My Old Scanner, This Actron is Easier to Use, the Screen is Colored and Much More Clearer for Viewing....it Gives What Would Be the Top Fix the Trouble Code(s) that is Present....for Me this has Been a Very Solid Investment, the Only Item I Wish Would have Come with this Scanner was the USB Cable......

Good scanner with lots of features
I have been looking to upgrade my older scanner with one that has ABS/Airbag capability for a while. Did a lot of research prior to purchasing this unit. So far it has worked as it claimed it would. Noticed that some people were complaining about connecting to the Actron website to download the current software, but I had no problem at all, download took about 8 - 10 minutes. (USB cable for download doesn't come with the unit so you will need to purchase one if you don't have one already) This scanner is very intuitive to use if you have any experience with a scanner, if you don't it comes with a get started reference guide which is easy to understand. When connected to the OBDII port it recognizes the vehicle and is ready to go. All of my vehicles are domestic and I haven't had the chance to use it on a foreign make yet so I can't evaluate how it will do. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a storage case of any type. I am very particular with my test equipment and bought a foam lined hard case on line to store this scanner in. If this scanner works as long as my old one it should be the last scanner I ever need to buy. Don't pay list price, if you are patient you can get it for less on sale.

Easy to use for Non Mechanic
Very easy to use just plug it in and it reads the codes and it is easy to scroll through menu. I had it in the truck on a out of state trip and when I had a problem I called my mechanic back home and he diagnosed the problem so when I got it to a mechanic in that town I knew what was wrong and was not a out of state traveler about to get shafted. It stays in the console now. That truck had never given any trouble before but I was glad I had it with me.
