I first discovered Rachel True’s True Heart Intuitive Tarot through Mat Auryn. She wrote the foreword to his tarot book, and the two share a wonderful podcast that led me to explore her work. I am so glad I did. This deck has become my absolute favorite, and I have since gifted it to several friends who have all fallen in love with it as well. The set includes seventy-eight beautifully illustrated cards by artist Stephanie Singleton and a full-length guidebook that feels more like a personal conversation than a manual. Rachel blends memoir, tarot instruction, and spiritual reflection with grace and sincerity. Her writing carries warmth and wisdom, helping readers connect with the cards through both intuition and lived experience. Each Major Arcana card includes a story from Rachel’s own life that gives context and emotional depth to the archetype. The Minor Arcana and court cards are described with accessible “High Vibe” and “Low Vibe” meanings rather than rigid upright or reversed definitions. That approach encourages you to see tarot as fluid energy rather than fixed judgment. The imagery is modern, multicultural, and beautifully inclusive. This is a lovely deck. At the low price point of around $15, it is a steal. I love the interpretation of the standard waite-smith imagery. It is very unique and has a soft, yet bold feeling to it. The imagery on this deck is truly unique and would be great for intuitive readers as well as practical readers, or a mix of both if you're like me. This deck comes in a big box set with the cards and a large guidebook to go along with it (like I said, for this price, it's a steal!) The card stock feels slightly below average as it doesn't feel like it's completely cut properly and is a bit on the thin side. However, this doesn't take away too much from the loveliness of the deck. The guidebook is pretty good and is a pretty easy read. Rachel discusses her personal experiences of the card along with the traditional meaning, however, she doesn't go into the imagery too much which is definitely something I would have liked to see. I think this deck would be a perfect gift for a younger reader who is just starting out since it includes a book that will help them to get started. I would recommend this deck to both beginners and seasoned readers alike because the imagery is so refreshing and unique that it makes the deck worthwhile to even those of us who have every waite-smith clone on the market.

Please take my word for it – Rachel True has written a marvelous book that is more than a great and instructive read – it is a book to be consulted, reread and treasured for a lifetime. And the multicultural Tarot deck that she has created is beautiful and thought-provoking beyond words. Each card is a work of art. Whether you are interested in the art of Tarot or simply someone who enjoys exceptional visual art, each card can be cherished and appreciated like a painting that takes on a life of its own, and over time, becomes a familiar persona in an alternate world, to be visited time and again. I am an attorney by profession with spiritual beliefs grounded firmly in Christianity. Both the law – with a bias against concepts that are not supported by reason and demonstrable evidence – and my Christian culturalization – which historically has viewed Tarot with suspicion – conditioned me against taking any interest in Tarot. I only recently started my journey of discovery into the art and practice, initially as an academic exercise. My inquisitiveness was sparked by pre-publication blogs by the author herself, Rachel True, a wonderful actor who I came to appreciate as an incredibly intelligent, thoughtful, engaging, sincere, and kindred spirit. Even though our spiritual beliefs and practices are not the same, I realized that we both were on similar journeys to discover truth and enlightenment in challenging times. In True Heart Intuitive Tarot, Rachel reveals how Tarot can be used as a tool for self-reflection, guidance, and self-empowerment. Unlike my preconditioned notions about them, the Tarot cards are not ungodly idols with powers to capture our spirits and magically foretell impending imaginary dooms. Though visually spellbinding, the cards, as Rachel shows, merely are tools made of paper and ink. Rachel explains that the true force and power of the craft always rests with us – and that the cards simply allow us to tap our own intuitions and spiritual energies. Like my finest college and law school professors, Rachel approaches her subject matter and readers with great care and respect. Her lifetime of study and experience make her highly qualified to teach about trustworthy methods, traditional meanings and psychoanalytic perspectives. But while explaining the historical underpinnings and traditional interpretations of Tarot, she provides her own views and gives her readers the intellectual freedom to do the same. And that is where I found the greatest common ground with my own spiritual journey – in the liberty she allows us to search for and find Truth, meaning and guidance through (not in) the cards – rather than bludgeoning us to a slavish adherence to dogma. The sweetest surprises of True Heart Intuitive Tarot are in Rachel’s 22 personal memoirs, one at the end of each chapter on the Major Arcana. In each one, she tells how Tarot helped her navigate her personal trials and tribulations throughout her life and career. Each story is generously revealing, demonstrating how we, too, can find comfort in times of trouble and be empowered to overtake life’s most challenging obstacles. In learning how Tarot has helped Rachel, I am struck by the irony of how my own faith has given me a similar foundation for finding my way. I remember the words of Jesus: “You shall know them by their fruits.” And the fruits of Rachel’s book are all good, regardless of a reader’s faith or philosophical perspective. I wholeheartedly encourage you to buy True Heart Intuitive Tarot. It will pay dividends far, far beyond its purchase price. First i will say that I am a Rachel True fan from Half Baked and Half & Half. Despite my brooding alternative black girl magic healing crystal buying-tarot learning-astrology dabbling curly haired self, I have not seen The Craft.Probably wont, just to be weird. Anyway, I have been learning tarot for the past couple of years or so off and on but i was the type who may as well not have images printed on the cards. I would jump to the internet to look up the meaning of the card and the relation to the placement in my spread. "Intuitive" tarot. Intuitive is the key. True draws from one of her creative roles as an actor to share a method for learning to remember the generally understood meaning of the cards. This was the first takeaway from the book for me. I don't know if its a common method but it is something that really shifted my way of looking at the cards. If you are a fan of hers, i would read the book in order, or if you want to jump in and start with the tarot part, i recommend using the method she talks about and read it based on the order that you pull the cards. Theres definitely more than one way to use this guidebook. The major arcana takes up the bulk of the book and they are presented in great detail, the general understanding of the meaning of the cards- far more detail than the teeny guides you get slipped into the usual tarot decks. Following these are personal essays, which helped me as the reader, further understand them more, and the reasoning why the illustrations of this and the R-W-S Deck are the way they are. Without spoiling, the essays illustrate the low and high vibes of the cards in unexpected ways, ways that you may not think about because of your initial impression of them. Also the essays are relatable while still talking about at times, "Hollywood". This may be one of the most useful "memoir-y" books i've read in a while, she's sharing pieces of her life in a way that helps her readers learn more than just about her, but a skill that we can use ourselves. it is impossible for me to look at tarot the same way after reading this book. In these times it is important for all of us to take care of and really get to know ourselves on this plane. True Heart Intuitive Tarot is a handy companion for that. Some of the interpretations in the book i don't necessarily see and i feel comfortable saying that because of reading this book ("I learned it by watching you!") It's helping me settle into that zone of balancing trust in my intuition and listening to those with more experience than i do. The illustrations are beautiful, some are weird as hell, but overall they are a treat to look at. Inclusive of genders and races. Im baffled by the comments regarding the card stock. the cards feel exactly like my Rider Waite Smith deck they just don't have the beveled corners, which i only noticed during my confused inspection of the deck to make sure i wasn't missing something. All in all i absolutely recommend this book to creatives, to people looking for an alternative self help book, to those learning tarot, who are interested in tarot, those who are Rachel True fans. Well worth the wait.

I haven't bought a new Tarot deck since the 1990s, and my old cards are too big, too coated, too hard to shuffle. While I loved the galactic look and feel of this unnamed deck, I never really bonded with it, it never really called to me. I've thought of getting new decks over the years, but have never done it. After opening Rachel's True Heart INTUITIVE deck, I realize I've been waiting for Rachel's Tarot all this time. First of all, let me say that I've known Rachel for [mumbles] years. That's a full disclosure, and to say I'm a little biased would probably be an understatement. However, having known her for awhile, I can say the cards reflect her heart, her spirit, her strength, and the insight she's given me as a friend over the years. What do I love about the deck? The butterflies that I've come to associate with Rachel. The lovely illustrations by Stephanie Singleton based on Rachel's images of women and men of all varieties, reflecting an array of people (particularly the feminine); of African, indigenous, South American, and Nordic/European symbols woven together. The series of cards with eyes that look back on you, reflecting your mind's eye, opening up your chakra to receive the message. The beautiful soothing color scheme, the images that create thoughts of wood nymphs in their kingdoms, of peaceful endeavors, of fiery pursuits and justice, of using your own power of insight to reflect on deep truths that you know but need just a little help forming and bringing forth. Rachel's essays written with the Major Arcana are spot on of her experiences as a Black actress fighting for her due in Hollywood, but also of her growth as a woman and human being. She speaks truth to power of the obstacles and challenges she's had to overcome, and of the immense resources of kindness and grit that she has exhibited along the way, all reflecting back on the Major Arcana and their meanings. Rachel has deeply researched, learned, and meditated on the art of the Tarot and her inner meaning of life, and she's worked incredibly hard on this beautiful gift of a deck culminating in the things she's learned. Today I did a three card pull, as seen in the photo attached. I've been feeling really aggravated by the state of the world, and I pulled the Justice card, which was exactly on my mind at that time. Usually cards have the scales balanced on one side or the other, but I loved that Justice was balancing on an upturned sword, with the scales above her head in perfect balance. The Nine of Swords was in my immediate past. To say that I haven't been in a "spin-out" in low vibe mode (another thing I love... high and low vibes for cards instead of "good" or "bad" aspects), would be an understatement in this time of political malaise and social illness. But then the Six of Wands showed up, with its palm out, and bird gathering a nest of trinkets of luck and fortune. "I'm Queen of this nest" she seems to be saying, and "I bring you good fortune." The optimism of the card combined with the other two filled me with confidence and the power to know that whatever happens in the future, things will turn out well, because I rule my personal nest and success. On a downside, I'll note that the cardstock could be coated a tad more, but as I work this deck in my hands, it's easily malleable, it doesn't fight me in the shuffle like my older deck, it feels like an extension of my hands and allows me to really get that good shuffle in while I'm focusing on my questions. The word "INTUITIVE" in the title of this deck is apt. Its symbols are universal and deep, and for all people to see a little of themselves and the world around them, leading to a clarity that is really nice. Thanks, Rachel. Great work!

I was drawn to this deck because of the unique imagery and positive reviews I'd seen both here and other places. Even though opinions were somewhat mixed I placed it in my cart so I could see what my wife thought. A few days later I'm surprised to find it laying under my pillow. Upon opening it I had conflicting feelings. The box isn't really impressive. But it's just a box. This Isn't a keepsake box anyway. The cards are a little more complicated. The cards stock is thick and feels more cardboard than card stock. The cards are bigger than a regular tarot deck which means more detail should be able to fit on the cards. In reality it means you can see more easily the low resolution printing and artifacts from the digital downgrading. Things like stepped lines and circles that look fluid, smooth and higher resolution in both the book and the digital promotion imagery. The loss in resolution is more obvious in cards like 'The Sun' and even the card backs, with lots of details that just end up looking muddy. Half the imagery I vibe hard with. I like that it's not traditional throughout. I feel like there's a lot to pull out of these cards. The Court cards, specially swards I don't really vibe with. (Shame because it's my suit) After a day of sitting with my feelings, I showed my wife the 5 of swards to tell her how I was on the fence about keeping the deck. The card looks like it has coffee spilled on it. It was obviously a printing issue. She gently reminded that the five of swards can be about pettiness. That I should ask myself if I'm unfairly judging the cards. She then gave me a beautiful reading with them. She was right. I hadn't read with them or even introduced myself to them. Since the moment I opened myself up to their potential as a tool and our potential as working partners this deck has spoken loud and clear to me. It whispers little peeks of imagery while I shuffle and is eager to go deep into the questions I have. The more I work with them, the more I realize the cards I had the biggest problem with are the ones I most needed to learn from. The book is alright. I like the way Rachel True speaks in it. Even though much of the info is basic she makes things click on my head in a way other books haven't. TLDR The box is a box. The cards look and feel like you'd find them in a cereal box. (Actually lower quality card stock than a deck I found at the dollar store) But if you give them an actual chance, treat them with respect and open yourself up to their potential they might actually show you their value. I feel so deeply connected to this deck! When I read with this deck, the cards get down to the truth, and evoke really great feelings out of me. I’m excited to deepen my bond with it. The illustrations are really captivating. There is a lot of symbolism in the cards and you can sense through the deck and guidebook that Rachel True has a knowledge and love for the tarot.

Let’s start with my initial reaction. I had it pre-ordered forever, and at first I was disappointed in the quality of the cards and the guidebook not being in color. The content of the guidebook though...it truly is everything. So detailed, relevant, current and timely. I’m a little bit of a card snob and have come to the realization that this set was more about the book and the artwork of the cards. The focus truly was not on the card quality. The artwork is beautifully crafted. 5 stars for this deck! Love it enough to share with my friends and family. We have already sent a set to our baby sister because we Connect and resonate with the deck. I’m just a snob wanting higher quality card stock. LOL! Rachel True did an amazing job, and I’m excited to have these in my hands. I am just sharing my honest feedback as an avid tarot collector and novice card slinger. :)

As rich in explanation of each Major arcana and as beautifully illustrated as the cards are, it is sad to see the cards are of poor quality and started chipping and tearing immediately. All the valuable work should not be wasted in poor card quality.

Il s'agit d'un tarot de type Rider Waite Smith multiculturel, accessible aux débutants avec certaines illustrations plutôt originales. Le coffret est peu pratique avec le jeu en 2 parties. A part ce point, achat satisfaisant.
