How does this speaker compare to the Acoustech PL-89 speakers?

I wouldn't be able to give you a comparison because I haven't had the opportunity to hear these new towers. They are beautiful and seem to be well received from people who own them. I can say that the DV84 towers are outstanding with excellent mid range. The Bass is shockingly full for a tower speaker. I think either speaker would serve you well. The PL-89 is newer,and appears to have a nicer finish. The BIC company has been making solid speakers for many years so it's your choice.

I have a 50w per channel receiver. Will that be enough to push these speakers?

Yes. These speakers are efficient and will get more than loud enough with your receiver as long as you're not looking for ear bleeding levels.

How tall are these and how much do they weigh? every website seems to say differnt

Although I haven't weighed them, I just now measured them at 43.5 inches in height, on the floor, no stands. It's a wood floor, not carpet.For what it's worth, they are heavy. You don't have the impression that they're "cheap"; you certainly feel that you've got what you paid for.

This a good setup to buy? 2x bic america venturi dv84 + bic america f12 12" 475-watt + denon avr-s510bt receiver. will everything work well together?

Yes that setup will sound great, I have an older model denon with the dv84's and from low to high volume it sounds great.
