Fear of the Dark (Fearless Jones Novel, No.3) Review: Another great Walter Mosley book - You can't go wrong with a Fearless Jones and Paris Milton adventure fantastic story, well crafted characters, and some of the most authentic dialog you will ever read. This story is a page-turner extraordinaire. I am delighted to add it to my collection of Mosley titles. Review: "A life worth remembering is hell to live" - Paris Minton - Another good read from Mr. Mosley. However, I'm not sure if there were continuity errors he and the editors missed. It seemed to me that some activities Fearless and Paris were talking about were omitted from the narrative. I could be wrong, and I was enjoying the reading so much I didn't go back and re-read to be sure - it didn't make that much difference. That was why only 4-Stars. One thing did puzzle me though, it seemed both Fearless and Paris were using a lot more urban street language than I remember in the first two books of the series. It made me wonder if Mr. Mosley started to get feedback from the publisher to make his writing "blacker" as depicted in American Fiction (a really good movie BTW). Also there seemed to be more sex than I remember seeing in his several other books I've read - another publisher suggestion?

Best Yet of the Series.
I was rather disappointed with the 2nd Fearless Jones book, It just seemed Mr. Mosley couldn't figure out the ending so he just ended it. But this story was much better. Lots of twists and turns and complications and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I must say, though, that Mosely and Harlen Coben rely a little too much on the device of the principle character having a relentless killer as a side kick, whether it's Jones, Mouse, or Hush, or Coben's "Win".

Mosley is a master story teller
A wonderfully complex plot that is not only plausible but buoyed by interesting characters who never fail to deliver on wisdom, humor, and sometimes common sense. Mosleys comments on race and social issues make me reflect on my childhood and the many people and circumstances I remember as isolated events occurring in a world carved by racial, economic, and educational disparities. His insights and shadowed/nuanced visions open my mind to what culture and society creates particularly in the context of the African American traditions.

Fear of the dark
The third of the fearless Jones books was alright. Not the best of the 3. Enjoyable read. The ending was a little rushed, but it was convincing.

Fearless And Paris make a great team
This book had as much mystery as some of the great books that Mosley has written but it also had the twists and turns that came from directions that you never anticipate.

Not Mosley’s Best
I’ve been a big fan of Walter Mosley for over thirty years. The Easy Rollins series is my favorite series. Now none of us hits a home run every time and I found this book to be kinda pedestrian for Mosley. It’s not a bad book, just sits below his normally high standards. I was disappointed. Now I’m moving on to reading more Mosley works. I don’t believe I’ll be disappointed again.

I always enjoy Mosley's novels. I like the worlds he creates that feel based in reality. He's a political writer who wants the best for people but who also understands how complicated the world is and how difficult a job to change biases. This novel with a slew of characters, some saints, some sinners, is a hit. His protagonist sways back and forth through the human emotions that lead us through fear and weakness to strength and daring, what we all are so familiar with. Well done!

Mosley writing is of action and GReat characters. The pace is great and the action keeps you turning the page to see what the protagonists get up to next. Good read. Would highly recommend this book.
