Good quality green beans as far as I can tell (All physically intact, consistent shape/size, clean smell--roasted coffee is fragrant and supremo size) but, I'm no expert. Differentiating between first and second crack is difficult. Continuous cracking between first and second into a Vienna roast. Toastmaster popcorn popper: city roast about 2:40, city+ at 3:00. Home roasting is fun. I can't stop smelling the fresh roasted coffee I made. It's addicting! (2/2015). Addt'l Info: Ordered direct from company for 2nd 5lb bag and got a less tasty bean batch; bags weren't marked with shelf date as desertcart beans are. Granted it's not terribly distinctive, but we don't buy Colombian coffee for that reason. Quite mellow and nutty. If you like Colombian, you'll like this. ------------------------ Pleasant, but non-descript Colombian. This is the coffee I would pick to serve large crowd or a rookie coffee taster. It's "middle of the road" in just about every category. Nobody's going to tell you it's bad, and nobody will tell you it's great. I needed to increase the coffee/water ratio to get more flavor.
