Do your children realize they have one of life's greatest gifts, the ability to make choices that determine how their day will go? Life can be rough. We can't always control what will happen, but we can always decide how we respond to it. When we teach kids that they have the power to choose their reactions, it shifts everything! By choosing positive actions, kids feel happier and build lifelong healthy habits. No more, "I can't, I don't know, or I'm not!" My Magical Choices presents 13 "I choose" statements that empower children to take responsibility for their days and inspire them to use conscious language and choose to be calm, forgiving, brave, honest, friendly, and much more. Written by a 20-year elementary and special educator and founder of Free Kids Academy to empower kids to create their own happiness. Becky Cummings, M.Ed., is inspired by her experience in the classroom and homeschooling her own three children. She loves kids and thinks they are divine little humans with unlimited curiosity and creativity. She also loves speaking her truth. Becky is blessed to combine these passions by writing children's books that spread messages of love, hope, faith, health, and happiness. She is on a mission to ensure all children have access to her collection of social and emotional support books! Collect other books by Becky Cummings The Magic of Me Series is a collection of personal growth books that empower children to make choices that will lead to a healthy and happy lifestyle. The vision for the series was to give children access to learn big ideas about mindset that traditionally have only been introduced in adulthood. As an educator, Becky Cummings was aware that between the ages of 0-7, the brain is in the most influential learning stage. It is here that the majority of the subconscious mind and its beliefs are formed. Therefore, the series was created to target boys and girls ages 2-8. Using vibrant illustrations and simple language in rhyming verse, powerful concepts are explicitly presented so they can be easily understood and applied by little minds. Review: Beautiful and Helpful Book - This was my choice as Mystery Reader for my child's Kindergarten class. I passed out little wands to each child and we read together. The suggestions in the back of the book give great ideas and context for an interactive experience. The hardcover was sturdy and glossy with vivid adorable drawings. The quality is excellent and the message was clear- you're in charge of your life, you're the magic behind your choices. It's a very good book for framing and mindset for children. I highly recommend this as a classroom book, as well as one for home. Note- This book will not offend anyone. It is kind and inclusive. My parents are very against anything magical, I am not, but they were not bothered by anything and really enjoyed the book. They're bothered by everything. Big win! Review: Absolutely Beautiful Book With Great Lessons! - My boys, 8 and 2, both love this book! It is vibrant and well designed. The message of YOUR CHOICES really stick out but not in a lecturing way. My favorite things about it are: 1. It is not a super short book. 15 lessons of Choices. It's long enough to get into it, but not too long that a child loses interest. 2. It was clearly created by a mom like myself, who put a lot of thought and love into it. 3. It teaches children to be thoughtful of others feelings and how to be responsible. 4. One of my favorite pages is the "Gentle" lesson. The line "Use your hands with grace and care. Be kind to pets when stroking their hair. With little friends you're careful too, nobody wants to get a boo-boo." This page is important to me because I'm super adamant about kids not being rough with animals and learning to control their impulses. Plus, as boys grow, they need to know the importance of respecting a woman this same way. 5. My other favorite page is the "Magic starts in you" lesson. The first line is "You are the captain of your own ship." Which reminds me of a poem I had to recite in Literature my Freshman year of highschool: 'Invictus' by William Ernest Henley... "Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul." I love that I can relate this book back to that poem, and instill into my children that THEY are in charge of the course their lives take. No one else is. Overall, this book is wonderful and I will be buying the other Magic of Me Series books!

An Engaging Read with Minor Room for Improvement
Overall, I really liked this book! It does a great job of helping kids understand that they have choices in how they act and respond to different situations. The message is empowering and age-appropriate, and I appreciate how it encourages emotional awareness and personal growth. That said, there were a few moments where the examples of โbeing braveโ could have been more carefully chosen. For instance, one page talked about needing bravery to eat vegetables. While I understand that many kids do struggle with this, it made my childโwho actually likes vegetablesโwonder if maybe they shouldn't. It raised the question of why someone would have to be brave for something they already enjoy, and it briefly confused the overall message. Still, the book is well-written, relatable for most kids, and a valuable tool for starting conversations about choices and behavior. I'd definitely recommend itโwith a note that not every scenario will apply to every child.

This book is beautifully written and it teaches the children that they always have a choice to do nice things and how the nice things they do affect other children or people in a positive way. The illustrations are lovely. My children loved it and we were talking about each page of the book.

Lovely story to encourage positivity
My Magical Choices is a beautiful book showing that you have the power and choice towards how you react and behave in situations, the magic to be you. On each page it starts with 'I choose' which children can be encouraged to repeat. I think this is a really lovely idea as the more they repeat it the more they'll believe it's true! The book has a range of things children could choose to do shown in a positive light like be honest, be generous, be tidy. With each choice there is a little rhyme which is a very fun way to get the message across to the children as they love rhyming books. The illustrations are gorgeous with a range of characters showing examples of these choices throughout the book. On some pages we get to see a negative (e.g. an item broken by football) but the positive is always much more noticeable which is great as it children understand and see a good choice made by the character. This is a fantastic book which demonstrates lots of positive choices children could make and encourages them to think about the magic they have. A brilliant and inspiring read for young children.

Beautiful
I have read most of this authorโs books. They never disappoint me. The best lesson children can get from her books is to love themselves.
