Reluctant 5 stars having tried many...
Determined to find a greener solution to the millions of toothbrushes ending up in the ground in the UK weekly I've been going through quite a few brands.I have concluded that there will always be consumer review dissatisfaction in them down to a variety of limitations based upon the inescapable fact that plastic handles plus nylon bristles represent the perfect materials for the perfect toothbrush. As ever with a green choice, consumer sacrifices need to be made. The first point to make here is that this is not a completely compostable product. The suggestion that the nylon bristles should be removed from the toothbrush with pliers, then taken to a centre that recycles nylon is in fact very unrealistic. There are in fact materials such as boars or horses hair bristles that can make a toothbrush totally and naturally compostable, but these bristles are in fact very poor substitutes for oral hygiene in comparison with nylon (plus much more expensive). On that basis, I have at least concluded that I will personally accept the necessity of nylon bristles for the time being (and in the absence of viable alternatives).I feel that by choosing an otherwise compostable natural product you might still be reducing your environmental impact by (say..) 95%...The various problems I have found in finding a "perfect" greener alternative are as follows;1) Wood (or bamboo) brushes always seem to have a wider lip around the bristles than plastic ones. This (I have realised) is because a wooden material might be more likely to fragment at the edges than heat sealed plastic, leading to bristle fibres coming loose during brushing. This does happen (I have found) with many cheaper brands such as the one advertised here (which actually doesn't seem to shed bristles at all).2) Bamboo/wood brushes feel odd and dry in the mouth, with the extended lip (see above point) creating a little discomfort in use. You do get used to this...3) Bamboo/wooden brushes can also attract mould in the right conditions. I find regular use in an airy bathroom doesn't however allow this within the natural use cycle time (which I extend to around a month with the best of toothbrushes, this brand performing very well indeed).4) Non wooden/Bamboo compostable toothbrushes are also available, these being made of a hardened natural starch which breaks down in the earth. The problem with these I have found is that they only seem available with ultra fine bristles... Worth trying for those needing a fine bristle, although even the best do initially deposit a few stray bristles in your mouth. That lot brings me to this (Goaycer) brand of toothbrush..Looking at the negatives of general reviewing you will note that the usual wooden feel and extended brush lip are often mentioned (which as I've stated is a bit inevitable plus something the user does adjust to), plus the most common criticism of this particular brand being the hardness of bristle. This is in fact quite correct as indeed the bristles hardness definitely equates to "firm or hard" in terms of a standard toothbrush. For those with ultra sensitive gums Id say that perhaps this is a step too far, although might still suggest people give this a try and perhaps just brush a little more gingerly. For those of us happy with a firmer toothbrush (in that our gums feel better and teeth feel cleaner after using a firmer brush) I'd actually have to say that this is the best greener alternative brush I have purchased to date.I am finding also that the bristles last for as long as any regular plastic toothbrush (firm bristles or otherwise), if not longer..I am also not sure about whether the fact the bristles are firmer adds to the fact that the bristles don't drift loose and need extracting from your teeth rather annoyingly (as with a great many other brands), but do think that this in fact plays a part. Possibly because firmer bristles will inevitably be thicker and less likely to drift out after being glued within the micro hole housings on the bamboo stem itself.So...All in all I believe I've found the best possible balance out there right now for the best possible price of just over 50p per unit.I'm sure something better/greener will arose in years to come, but for the moment I don't think there is anything put there much better than this for those who can tolerate (or even prefer) a harder bristle.Recommended.

Eco-friendly toothbrushes that work great!
I recently switched to the Goaycer Bamboo Toothbrushes with medium bristles, and I’m really impressed. The bristles are firm enough to clean effectively but gentle on the gums, making brushing comfortable. The bamboo handle feels sturdy and well-made, and it has a smooth finish that’s easy to grip. I love that it’s eco-friendly and biodegradable, which makes me feel good about reducing plastic waste. Each brush lasts as long as a regular plastic toothbrush, and the bristles don’t fray too quickly. They’re lightweight, simple, and perfect for everyday use.Overall, a great, sustainable alternative to plastic toothbrushes — I’ll definitely keep purchasing

Value for money, satisfied with overall quality
Really happy with the overall quality and I would say definitely value for money. 4/5 because they got mouldy after travelling and not unpacking from suitcase straight away.

Ode to the Bamboo Brigade (and My Sparkling Chompers)
Hark! A tale of teeth and trees,Of plastic foes and ocean pleas!Ten wooden wands, a bristled crew,Bamboo's might, a shade of blue!No more plastic, grim and stark,That chokes the whales and leaves its mark. These gentle sticks, a leafy dream,Keep forests green, a vibrant gleam! My pearly whites, they sing and shine,No cavity dares to cross the line.Medium bristles, soft and strong,They scrub the plaque where it's gone wrong! So bid farewell to plastic's reign,Embrace bamboo, and ease the pain!Ten brushes strong, a family's pride,With nature's grace, they gently glide!

Very nice cleans your teeth well 🪥🦷🪥🦷
Love thus tooth brush, use it at work and to my surprise it's not snapped and not swollen as I thought it might have. Nice wood colour very natural and therefore eco friendly which is always a plus, nice light weight good for a holiday and it's standard size not small or larger then a normal one.

Really happy with these toothbrushes. Buying them all the time. Takes getting used to not having plastic around the mouth.

Lovely brushes but...
Lovely brushes but the firmness of the bristles are quite hard, so be aware. Otherwise, it is wonderful to have this bamboo alternative to plastic.

great and great for the earth
I’m really happy with these bamboo toothbrushes! The bristles are medium-firm, which feels just right for daily brushing—not too hard on my gums but still effective. I love that they’re eco-friendly and biodegradable, so I feel good about reducing plastic waste. The handles feel sturdy and comfortable to hold, and the 10-pack is great for the whole family or for keeping extras on hand. Overall, these are a high-quality, sustainable alternative to regular toothbrushes—I’d definitely recommend them.

Bristles Are Medium Firmnes
I bought a 10 pack of medium firmness bamboo a couple years ago and loved them. When I'd used them all and went to order more, they were no longer available on Amazon.I have been ordering/trying different brands for a few months now looking for medium bristly, but even though the description said medium, they were always soft or super-soft.I'd almost given up, but ordered these as a final attempt and they are exactly the right medium firmness I need. My teeth finally feel properly cleaned again.
